Thankyou for a great experience and stay at Skylark cabin.While we had beautiful sunny and calm days with clear sky the experience would have been equally enjoyed had the weather been otherwise. The thought of snow on the Alps on a wintery day with the comfort of the log fire flickering could only be imagined. The restful private and expansive views from this well provisioned and carefully designed and detailed cabin provided a unique and memorable visit to celebrate my wife's birthday. Soaking in the outdoor bath enjoying a few glasses of bubbles while enjoying the clear star filled sky on a fresh autumnal night added to the magic of our visit.The easily accessible Skylark cabin provides you with a taste of untouched New Zealand that we thoroughly recommend you experience - many thanks Ian & Bubblesgirl.

Skylark Cabin was an amazing experience with nice little touches from the host! The place had great facilities and was very tidy. The host is very communicative from booking til check-out. A very unique experience and would definitely book again!

Everything about this thoughtfully designed and extremely well-appointed is a genuine delight. The owners have created an exceptional destination-worthy getaway here, and anticipated their guests' every desire. Peaceful, inspiring, beautiful, generous, and in-tune with nature, Skylark Cabin and its gracious hosts put it in the top tier of places to stay on the South Island of NZ. We very much look forward to our return stay... soon.

Absolutely stunning cabin in a wonderful location! Everything is so well thought out, architecturally and decoratively. My partner and I got engaged on our night here, and it could not have been more perfect! We were thrilled to find a lovely bottle of wine and snack platter upon arrival, which was enjoyed under the stars in the outdoor hot tub. This place will always be special to us - thank you Liz and Garry!Highly, highly recommend to everyone, stay here if you get the chance!!

The cabin is amazing, it has everything you need from basic medication to hygiene needs and if you cook it has alot of condiments and spices.There’s wifi and Netflix for your chill and relax needs including indoor and outdoor speakers.It’s too bad we don’t have time to try out the E-bikes but fret not we will definitely come back again !Both host are responsive in messages and they will definitely make your stay comfortable!

This cabin is AMAZING!! It was by far one of our favorites places during our NZ trip. Garry and Liz have thought of everything possible to make your stay comfortable. You will want for nothing while you are their cabin. The details and small extra touches are so impressive. The furniture and bedding were so comfortable we really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace inside. It was windy so we couldnt enjoy all the great stuff they provide for outside entertainment. The stars were so beautiful. I cant say enough great things about this place.. GO CHECK IT OUR FOR YOURSELF>>

Place is super cool. Just remote enough to feel like you’re all alone, fantastic views, and plenty of local outdoor activities to enjoy. Design of the house was well thought out and implemented. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and other goodies as well! First class place, and would definitely recommend you stay here if you have the opportunity! Pictures don’t do it justice…much cooler place in person!

What a fantastic stay we had at Skylark Cabin in Ben Ohau! An amazing, private location with everything you could think of provided for you - including a couple of e-bikes. And the Alps to Ocean bicycle track is just down the road!The morning rainbow was the icing on the cake for our relaxing, rejuvenating stay. Must stay location!

Garry is a very accommodating host and has created such a wonderful space. The weather wasn’t the best while we were at Skylark so we didn’t get any views but still enjoyed it so much. That’s how beautiful it is, and I can only imagine how much better it would be on a clear day. Thankful for Garry for sharing it with the world, and I definitely plan on going back and staying longer in the future.
