Great place, but clearer signage would have helped. Struggled to find my way around with kids in tow. Lucky some frequent mountain bikers were around to help us out

Admittedly I went about 10 days after Cyclone Gabrielle and the wild weather so conditions weren't great. However they do promote that beginners can complete the loop track, though I think this a lil dicey. Probably not helped by the conditions, but I found the Category 3 entry trail quite challenging. Narrow with loads of tree roots, sharp turns and reasonably steep drops in parts. Not too enjoyable such that I ended up cutting my ride short , not daring to try the Cat 4!

I'm a local and while I'm not a skilled mountain biker, I've been to oropi 3 times to take photos of mates (who can properly shred). From my experience, while the trails aren't top quality, they're pretty great for a local park that I can access only 15 mins ride from my place. Highly recommended if you've got a few hours to spare.IG: photosbyolly_

Always a good fun in all weather. Bit tricky when wet with the rooty climbs but always up for the challenge

This place is great. The level 1 is challenging for a beginner. It's more natural than some other mountain bike parks ie. Palmerston north. You don't have a huge hike to the top again. Not too boggy either. Plenty of different tracks. Wash bay and toilets (bonus, not long drop)

Pretty good MTB playground. Plenty of options for riders of all AGES and skill levels. Just leave enough energy left to climb back out of the valley at the end.

Really good trails but trail markers need to improved, it was my first time riding there and had no clue which direction to go in.

Park loop ride recommended for 1st timers is definitely not for beginners. You have to get thru Grade 3 Intermediate trails just to get to the Grade 2 Easy trails. There are no Beginners trails. Signage is poor in places. Do not recommend this park for beginners at all.

This park is definitely not for beginners as stated in other reviews. You'll have to ride some of the harder trails to get to the beginner Trails and there are no loop tracks despite what the write-up says. Would be fun for teenagers and those that are experienced but those on e-bikes and starting out looking for easy trails do not come here
