Newdane Motors

I went to Newdane Motors this time last year but since then I found a new mechanic. They have advised me I paid double the market rate for the work done to pass my last WOF here at Newdane motor which was over $600.If the Michael stopped spending so much time over charging people and making fake google accounts to review this own company and more time doing honest work people would provide 5star reviews.

Not very helpful to get a courtesy car & repair my car. I am going to Ellerslie Automotive!

I went for my WOF this year for the second year in a row. Last year I failed on things such as water in the tail light, overall costing over $500. This year I once again failed and was told it would be $650. I asked for the list and showed my partner, as I don't know much about cars, and he said it was mainly nonsense. It included a wheel alignment, replacing a cracked tyre (there is no crack), new wiper blades, all things that aren't related to the WOF. I always have a tendency to trust the professionals with my car since I don't know much, but I'm glad I trusted my instincts this time. I went to my partner's mechanic for a second opinion, and was told my car was fine - I passed and saved $650. This mechanic clearly likes to take advantage of young women like myself who trust them blindly, since we don't know what is necessary and what is not.

Long story short, DO NOT USE THEM BECAUSE NOBODY LIKES BEING LIED TO OR ROBBED $500 and I had family connections, imagine what would happen to strangers........I went in to get some bushes changed. They quoted a cheap price as I had family connections with the owner. So I went there instead of going to my usual trusted mechanic. After I picked up my car, I noticed that my rotor brakes were all of sudden warped (which only happens after applying tremendous amount of heat). I questioned them about what happened as changing bushes have nothing to do with brakes, therefore it shouldn't have happened. They had no answer except for come in and I'll fix it for another $250". The car was only there for a short time so the only conclusion was that they changed my rotors to damaged ones to get more cash out of me. Unfortunately

Charged $75 just to look at my vehicle but was kind enough" not to charge to remove a stone from between my brake pads. Judging from the other reviews this place has a reputation for taking advantage of customers and practically stealing their money. Absolutely disgusted with them."

This was a while back but my key ignition was a bit sticky. Came back 3hours later to be told there was nothing wrong but would cost over $300 for looking at it. What a rip. An honest mechanic wouldn't charge you if there's nothing wrong or maybe labour not over $300. I felt bad for my mum who had to fork out an unfair bill. Dunno how these guys are still in business with their scams. Just read the reviews.

Super happy with the work done on my car, will always use Newdane Motors to fix and service and WOF for me!!

Michael-Greenlane told 175 NZD for servicing my Subaru but charged 236 NZD. He later adding 60 dollars for labor and did service with cheap engine oil. He charged 50 dollars for oil when I check it is available for 28 dollars in repco. I won't recommend this place and Michael.

Best workshop in Auckland, Michael is one of the best and most honest workshops around, Great service, Very knowledgeable and very well priced compared to other workshops, Highly recommended.
