One of the best country pubs we've been to in a very long time, largely thanks to the fantastic publican! Country hospitality at its best. Great food & the man knows how to pour a good drink.Lauder is a fantastic spot whether on the rail trail, staying for a wedding or a few days. Great accommodation, good people who all help to make your stay as comfy as possible, and fantastic hospitality.Can recommend the meals at the pub, really delicious pub food. A huge thanks to Nobby the publican, who made our stay in the area one to remember!

We cycled past on 22 July and called in for a coffee. Lovely friendly people running the pub - they took over in early July. We cycled on and came back later for a really nice cooked lunch and some beers. Clean toilets, dog friendly, lovely atmosphere. I wish it was my local. Highly recommended.

A wonderful meal and cold beer in a beautiful garden at the end of a 50km cycle. Couldn't have been happier with my experience. Best of luck to the new publicans.

After riding 50km from Clyde on the central Otago Rail Trail, a couple of Speights were very welcome. But it was the steak for dinner that was 5 star. Fantastic.

Great little pub. Worth stopping for a cleansing ale. Heaps of room and a great beer garden. The chips are damn good too

excellent food! chicken lasagna is beautiful! dishes come with a salad which i love! warm and friendly atmosphere, plus pool table is free!

Great spot close to the Rail Trail and a good selection of beers on tap. Unfortunately this was undermined by the publican being very rude and yelling his opinion at my companion and I. Made what should have been a lovely evening beer uncomfortable.
