Jean Batten was perhaps the most famous New Zealander of 1930s. She made record-breaking flights from 1933 to 1937. In October 1936 she made the first direct solo flight from England to New Zealand.

Nice stature didn't spend long at it to notice it more or find out more about it. Was very windy so couldn't stand and appreciate it as much as I would've liked to.
