Mt Pirongia summit tower

I parked at Corcoran rd car park, 1st pic is sunrise from car park at 6:30am. Done the Tirohanga track the estimated times on the sign are return times. From the beginning its stairs and on tree roots and rocks as walkway takes you to the Ruapane trig lookout, can have rest at trig. Then carrying on the walkway descends and rises a few times also there are 2-3 parts on track where you can use chains to assist you. When you get to the Tahuanui track junction you can see the lookout platform. Then you'll come to Mahaukura track junction and the lookout platform is only 15mins away. The views are spectacular on a fine day. It can be very windy so be careful and take a warm jersey.
