Got a few bargains tho grocery prices ever on the up there was still a few bargains at paknsave cf new world & countfown in cambridge and matamata, plus 6c a litre off petrol which was cheaper than matamata so went well towards whatever it cost to drive from work in Cambridge and home from Rotorua after the home show - along with the savings from getting our weekly sushi fix at St pierre in rotorua rather than local in matamata

I use a backpack wherever I go, but not allowed at PaknSave due to thefts. So, I refrained from shopping there that day. Went there another day without my backpack, crowded, presentations of veges and fruits do not compare with New World or Countdown. A big store but not as nice to shop in comfortably. I shop in other stores that allow me to keep my backpack on rather than leave it in a trolley with an employee.

Speedy helped us get some items that weren’t on the shelf. Lovely guy to chat to, told us he’s been working here for 40+ years and was just such a delight. You need more Speedy’s in your store!

This place feels like a Costco or Sams Club back in the USA. They have everything for the camper or RV traveler. Ample parking lot too. It is packed, always! But the check out lanes go nice and smooth. I recommend all of the fresh fruit and mix and match trail containers. Feb 2020 for photos.

Always humming here. The produce department is always looking good. Always. The best in Rotorua imho with New World a close second. Hats off to the staff in this department. Mind you all the fresh food departments look good, considering the amount of folks that come through on any given day. Pricing is obviously competitive and the petrol discount is certainly a bonus right now. However I reckon your snack section could be given an overhaul. Put all the snacks together -the chippies, nuts, lollies, chocs, fizzies. And have them in the vicinity of the alcohol. And call it the ‘munchy mile’.Atm you have the chips in one part and then all the nuts, chocs and lollies in a completely different area and the fizzies somewhere else again. It’s a winner!

Can't enter with a backpack. While I may understand the reasoning behind that, the least a supermarket can do is provide lockers for customers. Leaving all your valuables in a shopping cart at the entrance is not my definition of safe". Did not shop there."

Our go-to supermarket for groceries and supplies. They have a very useful website for ordering online so you can easily compare prices and brands; there's a $6 fee (for service and bagging) for the scheduled pick up, but it saves so much time and you don't need to go up and down the aisles searching for items.
