Great hut, nice spot for swimming after hiking in or climbing up Duke Nose, especially in high tide when the water is right up by the hut.

Great place absolutely beautiful so many fish and stingrays stayed there for a week went for a kayak and saw some dolphins totally recommend it

Walked in about 2 hours Had lunch. Walked out.Good cooking facilities.Bunk rooms looked good

An amazing spot. Serene and peaceful overlooking the whangaroa harbour. Great for swimming here in this sheltered cove. Sweet little hut with all the amenities you need.

I love hikes this was a beautiful location and fully enjoyed our 3 nights here. There are two bedrooms 9 beds in one and maybe 5(?)in the other with two beds in kitchen /dining area. There are some pots and pans, but bring your own toilet paper. Also within 100m of the hut you can get phone signal, and call for a water taxi if the weather turns and have young kids (like we did)

Great location, beds a little hard although fixed my bad back, kids had a good time in and out of the ocean, beautiful clean river to swim in on the way in and out, managed to conquered the dukes nose.Thanks DOC
