Ōtoromiro Hotel
I have always wanted to stay here but we were always just passing through before. The owner was amazing. Their answerphone was playing up and he sent me his private phone number so that we could communicate. We weren't disappointed. The room was just lovely. Quality bedding, stunning views. Breakfast was included, which was a bonus. Yes it's old and quirky but the views are stunning and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

We stayed there at the weekend. Great pub, excellent friendly staff, fun swimming pool, nice beer, cool balcony upstairs, compact nice rooms and a fine simple breakfast the next morning! Recommended :)

Dinner for two. Lovely meal. My padta was a bit spicy. Distracted from the seafood. Wifes venison was pretty good. Tasty.

A hidden gem! I passed by this place several times when I traveled to Diamond Harbor. It was an unplanned visit here because our car broke down on the way home. We were so hungry while waiting for rescue, then, ta-da, here is the restaurant open on Sunday! I thought the $29 fish and chips were a little expensive until I took my first bite. The multilayer flavour of the batter was amazing. And the staff were so nice and friendly.Highly recommend if you are good at driving.

We stopped here for lunch. I’m a UK ex pat and was super excited to see Ploughman’s Lunch on the menu.. having never ever seen it before anywhere in NZ. So I ordered it, curious to see if it was as I expected it to be in the British sense.It absolutely was! Including the REAL Branston pickle!Highly recommend, and I commended the staff while I was here.

A lovely find whilst out on our days drive. Staff were super friendly and efficient.Cozy indoor seating near a roaring fire but we chose the autumn sunshine and were not disappointed.The calamari was the best my husband has had in years. The polenta chips were well cooked and ideally presented but the accompanying aioli lacked taste. Made up for taste with the Irish Cider.Wonderful lunch, hope to visit again.

Driving around the Port Hills looking for somewhere to eat when this beautiful, little, old hotel appeared.Fantastic atmosphere, location and friendly staff. The meal was excellent.Loved the 'Dogs Menu', so will undoubtedly be back with my furry pal for a rib-eye!
