Be warned! The pre purchase inspection of our property didn’t include the underfloor or ceiling spaces as it was meant to and there were very poor excuses given. I am left concluding that, after getting full payment prior to the inspection (and releasing the report), he took an opportunity to bank some fast easy cash at our expense. The report stated that the under floor was not accessed because the ‘hatch was fixed shut’. It was held in place by a couple of screws needing about the most common size of flat head screwdriver to remove. It was barely child proof. He couldn’t find the hatch into the ceiling space. We found it in 2 minutes. A bit of an unusual hatch but I think a building surveyor should’ve been able to recognise it. There was no phone call at the time to mention these ‘problems’.
