I experienced a short delay checking in. Which wasn't a problem I waited my turn. I'm on holidays after all. The lady in front had a great chat about the local politics about the ski field management team. I politely asked to check in. Was abruptly asked point blank if I had a name?". Which seemed hostile. I asked if a room upgrade was possible at my expense. After a short pause was informed that it wasn't an option. Yet those rooms still seemed available later that evening. Rooms are clean

Absolutely loved our stay in unit 1. Management very informative of local walks. Unit was clean, warm and had everything we needed for a night.

Spacious well equipped unit. Quiet, clean. Loved having a clothesline though you need a tall person with you to use it.

Comfortable large bed, heater was turned on for us. Sky tv.Near the lake with nice bush walks.

Great value. Well equiped basic cabins (Ella and Emily cabins) with space for up to 8 people at very good price. Stayed in one cabin before our tramp and one after. Friendly hosts.

On Wednesday, 19th of April 2023, the very kind staff at Nelson Lakes Motels went above and beyond in providing great service. We had been driving for hours looking for last-minute accommodation in the evening. Our daughter had rung the motel on our behalf to book a room. The motel made a special effort to prepare a room at very short notice for our stay. Regretfully, we didn't stay. I'm sure we missed their great hospitality and have no doubt they deserve five stars. - Mark and Yvonne Bradley

Lovely lights and electric blanket on when we arrived late. Arranged the stay in response to cook strait ferry issues. Over the phone sorted. Hosts away so left us a lovely warm inviting room.Excellent clean room with great facilities for the self made steak and stir fry.

Loved our 2 night stay in the studio cabin (No 10) directly next to the track taking you to Lake Rotoiti. If you are looking for a well presented, tidy, own bathroom, all you need for a short stay at Lake Rotoiti then Nelson Lakes Motels I recommend. Pleasant, professional, informative owner. Easy scanning process.Beautifully appointed setting. Separate laundry facility in an adjacent block (at your cost). Excellent base for trekking enthusiasts (a number of walking tracks). Do take decent trekking footwear with excellent tread as sneakers are not suffice for the longer treks.Please be encouraged to take your own meals/beverages as there is only one retail/café business.Surroundings, treks and the Lake just lovely.Thank you so much Nelson Lakes Motels. ❤(Images of husband).

Great location. Very clean, tidy . Management was very helpful . Would definetly stay again . Peaceful and quiet. Room was a great size , spacious

Great location. You can walk along a bush track from the motel to the Lake Rotoiti, and there are plenty of easy walking tracks through beech forest filled with birdsong (thanks to the great trapping work of Friends of Rotoiti!). But the motels themselves are rather rundown and our unit was musty, though clean. Electric blankets were great, so thanks for those.
