We visited on a Sunday afternoon for wine tasting and food. The wine flights were great (although limited in options) and the food was delicious. However, as the focus on this restaurant is on wine, I would have expected more from the wait staff. No explanation of the wine was provided at all while we were there. Service itself was fine though. In the end a great afternoon there with friends but probably wouldn’t go back.

We decided to check out SOMM, Princes Wharf on Sunday afternoon and had a very enjoyable time. Such a great concept to hero NZ wines and to do so by region and your choice / favourite variety. There are 4 tasting glasses to a flight and they are a generous 75mm pour so half a standard glass. Of course you can order by the glass or bottle, though many were taking advantage of the flight offerings.The decor is smart and sophisticated and the service outstanding - friendly and super fast to get your experience underway.Bruno from Chile was our SOMM / manager for the afternoon and was very welcoming and knowledgable. As the wine bar got busy there was a great chilled vibe as people soaked up the lovely weather whilst exploring the extensive wine list.This location has always had the benefit of wonderful sunshine most of the day and Sunday didn't disappoint - the glasses were sparkling and everyone was having a great time!Must say the pizzas were delicious and super light.Very impressed, we have needed a classy wine bar in Auckland for a long time - NZ wines focus will be a big drawcard.We look forward to many more enjoyable visits.

Lovely fit-out and ambiance. Good but somewhat limited food menu.A number of the wines that we were interested in were not in stock which was a shame. Also, it’s important to note that this is a cellar door for Foley Wines so the product is only from their wineries.

Great addition to the Auckland waterfront! Very good wine selection and generous servings for the tastings. Nice ambience too.

Awesome Wine Bar, the flight option from the various regions and varietals were great to try a number of different wines. The food was paired superbly and the team super helpful. Will be returning again soon.

A new wine bar offering flights of wine yay. Beautiful, intimate space. Nice long tables, would be good for a group event or boozy work meeting. Also complimentary charcuterie plate during happy hour.

Love this wine bar, me and my family had a great time here. The staff named Zilong is awesome, he introduced and explained the wine very well, and also have excellent service. Five star is for Zilong

With the ambience of the Sky City Hotel Lobby and the confused/bemused service staff of a Starbucks it was difficult to comprehend what Somm is trying to achieve. The wine list was clearly for tour boat patrons wanting to pay 35 dollars for a trip to Marlborough. A typical wine bar with ok food in a flash location close to the tourists it is suited to.
