I can't recommend Banqer enough. It is an incredible tool that is easy to use in your classroom. It's low floor, high ceiling in that you can dip into what works for you and your kaiako.Resources are excellent and provide valuable ready made lessons on this important topic.We use all aspects of it every week. My kids are always discussing financial literacy and making smart and not so smart decisions with their finances.We also have a Qountry (QZealand) a flag, businesses, our own Qurrency (snidges), jobs. My kids can also choose to open businesses, thereby spending and earning more currency, and making more financial choices. This also opens up possibilities for marQeting, sustainability, teamworq, Qreativity, Qommunication and Qollaboration. And we need banQ tellers, banQ aQountants, a banQ manager, tax Qonsultants - endless possibilities.Sometimes we invite other classes to our MarQet Days - or particular kids who have earned a special treat. This year we've changed our Qurrency to Dojo Snidges" so that the rewards earned in those classes translates.Then my Qids work towards retirement at the end of the year - those who can afford it because they've been good with their money. The rest have to help me Qlean up the Qlassroom and sQool on one of the last days of the year.This year we'll be voting for a Prime Minister too.Incredible that this brilliant resource is free because of KiwiBank sponsorship! Amazing product, highly recommended. Easy to use, motivational for children. Can be used to teach financial literacy, as a reward system and has heaps of mathematical applications. Have used it for 4 years now and can't fault it. Can't believe it's free!
