Kamahi Cottage

We have just had a fantastic weekend away at Kamahi Cottage. The cottage is gorgeous and has everything you need we felt relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. Liz had left us some of her delicious home baking which made us feel very welcome & at home. Nothing was too much trouble and we were pleased we had requested the dinner option as we didn’t want to leave the beautiful surroundings. The three course dinner was delicious and restaurant worthy. We eagerly awaited breakfast that was just as delicious. I had the best omelette I have ever tasted and highly recommend. Liz goes above and beyond as a host, she is warm and friendly with great attention to detail. From the beautiful dinnerware, to the presentation of all her meals and the cottage itself. As the first lot of baking disappeared way too quickly Liz surprised us with some more which was so thoughtful. We felt very well rested in the cosy comfy bed and enjoyed sitting on the deck having a cup of tea while watching the bird life and farm animals. It is so peaceful that even though we only stayed a couple of nights it was enough to recharge the batteries. Sadly the weather wasn’t good otherwise we would have requested a farm tour with Evan to hear & see more of this gorgeous land. I guess that means we will have to visit again. Thank you so much Liz and Evan for sharing your slice of paradise. We highly recommend staying at Kamahi Cottage, the problem is you just don’t want to leave.

I have stayed at Kamahi cottage a couple of times now as it’s my favourite place to stay in the Otorohonga area! It feels like your home away from home, so cozy and it’s got everything you need (and more)! Liz, the owner is the loveliest host you will come across and she sure knows how to cook - the breakfasts are divine! There’s so much to write about this lovely place but my favourite things would be: the baking waiting for you when you arrive - so delicious and straight away you feel at home, sitting on the swing chairs watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee - the view and the sounds of the birds is so peaceful, and the bed, it is the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in! Couldn’t recommend Kamahi Cottage enough. One of the best stays in NZ!

Whenever you want to stay at the Otorohanga area we can highly recommend Kamahi Cottage. The cottage is well-equipped and there is everything you need to have a wonderful time. Liz is a perfect host - you can choose from a variety of delicious warm breakfast options. The cottage is surrounded by a colourful garden and Liz even offered us to send us some seeds of her unique poppies.

Wonderful stay at Kamahi Cottage! Owner Liz was so welcoming and provided everything needed for a truly delightful visit. The cottage is quiet, extremely well furnished, and very comfortable. A real treasure!

Kamahi Cottage is a gorgeous home away from home - but better. The attention to detail, the cows out the window, uninterrupted views over the rolling hills of the Waikato, all makes for a genuine kiwi experience. The breakfast was clearly prepared with care and thought, and very yummy! I would definitely recommend this delightful cottage to stay for business or pleasure. Liz has created a true legacy for her family.

I have just spent a lovely few days at Kamahi, Liz is an amazing host and the experience was simply delightful. This is a cosy country cottage with tasteful choices and the feel of 'home'.Delicious food, wonderful hospitality and high quality accommodation. Liz also gave us great local recommendations for day trips and eateries which saved us loads of time as well having the option of her yummy (scrumptious!) home cooked meals. I have stayed at a number of different accommodation venues around Aotearoa over the past few years since returning to New Zealand. I have to say that Kamahi Cottage is a cut above. The cottage is very much a sanctuary. It has a peacefulness about it. The service and hospitality by the hosts was exceptional. By the end of the stay I felt more like family then a guest. If you are looking for somewhere to stay whether for business, a romantic getaway or a retreat I would recommend that you reach out to Kamahi Cottage. You will not be disappointed.

What a lovely place and a kind and interesting hostess. The gardening and view are beautiful. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped and spacious. The nearby town for its size has quite a nice choice of restaurants. Highly recommended this bucolic quaint accommodation.
