We were 2 Families (4 adults plus 2kids) stayed here for 2nights for the first time. We saw all those positive reviews and we totally agree with them!! The motel is absolutely perfect! When we opened the door, we went WOW!". It's clean

***OUR WORST EXPERIENCE EVER***Before you read have a look at other reviews and see for yourself that this is not a single event.we drove 200 km to get here and he left usoutside with no where to sleep because we showed up at 2100 instead of 2000.the owner didn't answer the phone nor the messages.He didn't you left us a key outside like every other normal place in the world would do.I traveled the entire world, never saw anything like that, absolute disgrace.When we came back in the morning to talk to the owner he verbally attacked us, threatened us and left us no choice but to call the police.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.

Very well appointed unit. Clean with everything you need. Very comfortable. Great bed. Excellent shower. Will stay again. Very close to town.

This weekend we were stranded in the Coromandel thanks to flooding and slips. David was a huge help allowing us to stay and check In immediately, with our 1 year old. The place is clean and tidy and has everything we needed. The layout of the room and signage was also really great, and porta cot availability was also a relief. Location was also super convenient. Overall a great place to stay and David was a great host! We will be returning - voluntarily next time haha thank you!!

Stayed over for a 21st. Looked after2 little ones so mum and dad could enjoy themselves. Was clean and tidy. Dave was very accommodating and helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised with size of the suites. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Dave for a great stay.

As we go on a road trip we don't book ahead. Drove in took a chance and one suit available. We were both wowed by how clean and fresh it smelled. Being in hospitality my fingers and eyes strayed to all the areas that normally get missed. Wow the finger tips were dust free.Well done. Have stayed in a few places in NZ ON our travels and this one has been outstanding.Lots of love and care goes into the management of this lovely motel.Highly recommend.Keep up the great standardsWerner and Byron

David is one the most caring, attentive, well organised and neat hosts I’ve ever come across on the three continents I’ve travelled. The accommodation was very thoughtfully equipped and very clean and tidy. David was reachable whenever we needed something and reacted instantly to our needs.It was a great pleasure to stay at his place, even though the weather was very bad (storm and rain all day). We were grounded, but had a pleasant stay anyway.

Owner only communicates via text/email, won’t answer phone calls. Was aggressive over text and email. My elderly grandparents showed up to the accommodation and were evicted because they weren’t the ones who made the booking. David, the owner, threw my grandmothers debit card across the table at her. Very rude and unnecessary.My family were lucky to book accommodation elsewhere at such short notice but your booking is not guaranteed at this place. Highly recommend Tidewater.

Excellent value for price. The room is spacious and spotless clean. Nice & quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. Would defenitely stay again if return in the future.

Rated as OK anything less would be unfair - Too busy with other customers to assist with a good attitude, in fact I'd go as far as saying hostile and their correspondence actually caused us genuine stress. As expected a decent, well maintained 3* Motel otherwise. Very, very expensive over the Holiday period compared to standard rates for the same rooms (we expected this) but TBF not on their own there, many places were utilising the first Christmas since Covid! You can see from previous reviews that the attitude issue was not an isolated event (this can't possibly all be down to the guests being the problem). Would never book again or recommend this property despite it being acceptable to stay in. Stay here but try to stay on their 'good side' or expect to feel uncomfortable.
