Great place! Great beach for kids to swim in. Facilities are good with lots plotted around the place. Have long drops for toilets but they are far enough to not have to smell it. You'll have to be prepared with food and drinks as it is far from shops. They do they taps that you can use for drinking. You can buy ice at Bland Bay for your chilly bin. Camp host was lovely. Campers were respectful with noise level at night. Lots of native bird life around, ducks accompanying me while I was reading and a family of Quails visiting you everyday! Can't wait to go back again.

Beautiful camp site - I have a 2 year old son and a 5 month old son they had a blast, there is beautiful views of farmland, beach, tree swing, picnic tables, water taps and walking trails. Definitely made camping easier. The toilet facilities are clean and tidy, they smell great too! Music off after 10pm is great for the sleeping kids.

We ended up staying here 3 nights and we liked it a lot. Though having had the choice picking one of the grassy sites on the beachfront we decided to stay on the parking lot" with gravel since it rained the days before and we were afraid to get stuck in the grass. However the "parking lot" was totally fine for us having our quiet time behind the van. You still have a beach view too. The site was overall pretty nice with lots of toilets

One of our favourite DOC camps. Family-friendly beach, safe swimming. Very helpful staff keep the grounds & facilities in excellent order. Book exchange in office. Most sites level & grassed. Cold showers only (take your own solar shower), toilets available. Potable water but no filling tanks by hose. Check in time at all DOC camps is after 2pm, vacate by 11am. No rubbish bins from Feb 2023.

We spent 1 night there. The campsite is very nice, there are pitches right by the sea, clean showers and toilets. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Have felt very comfortable and would always come again.

Beautiful place to stay. Summer only on grass, winter restrictions on small gravel area. Lovely beach, caught a snapper. Lovely camp manager & family.

Beautiful example of a Northland camping experience at the beach. Puriri Bay feels safe for small children with no waves and great sand. The sites were large and the facilities clean and more than enough for a camp situation. Lovely team too. Would absolutely recommend.

Puriri Bay is definitely a stunner!!Lovely safe beach for the kids to swim.Nice clean facilities.Unfortunately our stay wasn't the greatest. And we won't be back!!On arrival, we had to wait to check in as the host wasn't allowing anyone in till 2pm, by then there was a line of campers. Our site was very uneven, not so great for a tent.Just felt like we were walking on egg shell the entire time.Had to be very organized on pack up, no chance of sticking round for a swim after 11!!! (we saw the host tell other campers they had to leave).

Beautiful area, beach was lovely and safe for the kids. The campground was well kept and clean. Camp hosts were friendly and happy to chat whenever we saw them. Would definitely recommend this campground as a place to get away and reconnect with nature and loved ones.
