Our meals were very nice. The food was hot and didn't take long. The only thing was the ice cream desert. 2 scoops in a glass. Could have done better. The service was friendly and the place nice warm and cosy. We went next door to the movie after our meal. A good night out. Will be back.

The Lab is our local and never fails to impress. Great atmosphere, cool building and design, . The team is always friendly and provide great service. The food is absolutely delicious and is served very quickly, delicious pizzas, burgers and much more. The lab usually has a number of their own beer on tap and some guest beer and cider, a great selection. Tasting trays are also available. Highly recommend the teriyaki tofu vegetarian burger. Dog friendly and family friendly also.

It was a busy night... The Automatic 80's are playin The Events Centre.We were a group of 7 seated at 5.15pm.The starter drinks were great; fantastic beer made on site.Service was also great. People ordered pizza, burgers, fish n chips and the spare ribs.My greek pizza arrived first, delicious with the base charred.A comment about the FnC...fish was very salty and the coleslaw was bland.I'm assuming because it was so busy the last burger came out as I finished my pizza.Wonderful restaurant bar. Happy to go there again.

Excellent.Venue awesome and food and beers perfect. We had the fish with salad which was delicious. Would definitely call in again. Thoroughly recommend.

Had a work dinner at the Lab this week. Often there picking up a takeaway Pizza this time sat down with a bunch of work mates. Fantastic food the Wood fired Pizzas are the best in Selwyn - I've been going to the Lab for pizza for Years now. The entree's were delicious perfectly cooked.One of our party had an on-site brewed Beer flight - Brilliant!Staff are friendly, atmosphere is genuine and warm. There is even a dog friendly area. Full Marks to the Lab!

Went for a family late lunch. Service was superb, with our waiter offering options to make sure we fully enjoyed our meal. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The Hazy was the ideal match.

Absolutely loved this place! A wide selection of beers with 3 real ales on hand pull along with an explanation what a real ale is for those unfamiliar. Most beers are their own, with a couple of guests as well.The place has a lovely vibe to it, with friendly staff and intriguing artefacts about the building. Tasting flights come in scientific glass beakers which caused some amusement, and the menu is based on a periodic table!The most interesting part for me was the history of the building itself; constructed from reclaimed materials from old buildings and those destroyed in the 2011 earthquake.There is also a small cinema on site, which time prevented me from exploring.I wish this was my local...although that would probably be rather bad for my worklife!

What a delight! Popped in to check the beers and had a wonderful experience. Great, welcoming staff, fantastic, quirky, reconstructed building and good beers, including 3 real ales on handpump. Only had chips, so can't really comment on the food, but they were tasty and served in measuring cone! The tasting paddles of beer were served in glass laboratory beakers. Love it!
