Fossickers Hut | Canopy Camping Escapes | Fossickers Hut is situated near a small, historic, gold-mining town, Canvastown, on the main route to Nelson from either Picton or Blenheim. It's a convenient one hour from Nelson, and 40 minutes from Blenheim. Staying at Fossickers Hut is like taking a step back in time. Canvastown was once a popular gold mining town, and remnants of the gold workings surrounding the hut, are reminiscent of a time when the valley was populated by 2000 gold prospectors. The pioneer-style of Fossickers Hut was designed by artistic owners, Craig and Jodie, as a nod to these early settlers.

I simply cannot heap enough praise on this place. Everything ,from the hospitality shown by the hosts to the setting to the facilities and the pure genius of the attention to detail in the Hutt made for the most beautiful stay. Stay here if you value the beautiful pleasures of nature and a cheeky wine around an open fire whilst listening to nature. Thanks so much Jodie and Craig we could not have had a better stay and we will be back
