Frank's Oyster Bar & Eatery
What started out as an enjoyable experience changed after we had our first two glasses of wine and half dozen oysters. We were forgotten and the service ceased. We had asked some questions about the menu and not been told of any shortages. We waited around half an hour after finishing our second round for service and after flagging down the staff member who had been quite attentive previously were told what we wanted was off the menu. We lost ours hit and left!

I went here for dinner with some friends. The tables were booked out but the staff made an effort to find us a spot. We got the Frank Eats"(highly recommended) which is made up of items chosen by the chef. We enjoyed every item thoroughly. Everything was cooked to perfection. The ingredients were great quality and the seasonings/sauces were excellently balanced. My absolute favorite was the jerk chicken but everything was delicious! We all left full and smiling.They had a great selection of drinks. We had wine and bubbles

Fabulous! The food is outstanding, service friendly, and beautiful wines and cocktails. The menu is designed to share and everything we had was absolutely delicious, so hard to pick a favourite. Looking forward to going back to try the rest of the menu.

Had a lovely dinner on a very busy Tuesday night. Excellent oysters and steak. Short but enjoyable wine list. Warm and attentive service. Buzzy vibe with loads of people having a good time. Would go back when visiting Blenheim again.

We popped in without a booking at 5 on a Saturday and were offered a table until 6:30 which was great. It was early so I think the servers were prepping for dinner (we were the only ones) so we can’t say the service was memorable, I had to go to the bar to order as no one came back to get an order. We ordered something’s to share, all the raw stuff was super fresh and tasted lovely. We got the croquettes which unfortunately were very dry, the Hapuka sandwich which was well cooked but the white bread seemed like white sandwich bread? Wasn’t wow. We also shared the mussel pasta - the mussels were well cooked, but the whole dish did not balance well (the sauce was too thick) and the breadcrumbs didn’t add much. Noting this is our personal tastes, just disappointed as we had high expectations.The setting is nice and we would definitely go back for drinks and raw food. Maybe a summer menu would be the go for us.

I honestly can't express enough how great it is to come here. The wait staff are so enthusiastic about the restaurant, which shows in their service. I don't normally know what to pick at these sorts of places, but our waiter was able to give a great recommendation based on what we usually eat. The menu is simple, and lists out each ingredient, and yet the chefs put a great spin on the food, which blew out minds with the creativity.We had a little bit of everything. My favourite being the steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection, and the panna cotta, which was perfectly light for such a fulfilling meal. If you're on a budget, I would still recommend this place, The entrees are just as fulfilling and satisfying as any other $20 meal, yet it's a far more unique and exciting experience. Couple that with the lively atmosphere, the smiling staff and the chefs in the back that you can watch create art in food.My only suggestion would be live music. I think that'd be great to add.

We were celebrating finishing the Queen Charlotte Track and Frank's was the perfect place to do this. Great wine and delicious seafood. Professional service from all staff. Good wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed our night.

What a great place! We chose a somewhat eclectic mix of dishes from the menu and ate them pretty much tapas style. They were all hits. I was a little skeptical of a 20 odd dollar Brussel sprout dish but it was amazingly good - a real standout in a number of excellent dishes. Good portion sizes and flavours that made you want to order more. It's fair to say we ate far too much and are really looking forward to going back to try some more of the food.

Very disappointing experience. While the service was excellent when we first arrived, it dropped off dramatically. The staff were more interested in keeping 4 old white males near us happy than any one else. Then when we finally ordered mains, they were not available ! Edit: The owner did contact us subsequent to the review and apologised so I have updated the rating
