A place for young people to learn outdoor skills like sailing and kayaking and camping. They do a great job.

Declaration of interest: I'm a former leader with CSS and my son's a Venturer. Just facilitated a discussion with a one-day course for Venturers on alcohol and drug use. I'm a counsellor. They were surprised I wasn't there to preach to them but help them develop their own judgement. Scouts, and CSS in particular, are excellent at helping young adults establish their own identity - especially in assessing and taking appropriate risks in life. And promoting life as a continuous adventure.
