Aorangi Motel Fairlie

Great place to stay for a short stay. Easy to find and street is off the main road, so nice and quiet. The room looked very appealing, with nice bedding and furnishings. Everything was spotlessly clean and easy to heat, comfortable and had what we needed. Owner had advised that our key information would be on the blackboard outside the office, which suited us fine. My husband talked to the owner on the last day, who was lovely and friendly. Very well priced unit. Unit has been modernised, though paint around some of the window sills are due for a touch up. Driveway runs alongside units, so extra care may be needed with young children, but perfectly suitable for other age groups. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

No one in the office when we arrived, but hotel owner left a clear message so we can find easily our room. We stayed one night and every thing was fine except the shower was not warm enough. Price is okay comparing to hotels in lake Tekapo. It’s a good choice If you don’t mind driving 30min in the midnight to Lake Tekapo to watch the starry night.

Meet at the office by lovely Erin. So friendly and helpfull. Was having a bad day until i come across her. Cheered me up. Lovely warm clean units, comfortable couch, which was just what was needed at the end of a day. 5 stars.

Very good sized rooms. A little dated but clean and comfortable. A word of warning, the hot water from the tap is almost boiling and will scold if you're not careful

Arrived 5pm in winter to a warm room with heater on. Such a lovely welcome. Erin was very friendly as were her team. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Quiet. Cosy beds I didn't want to leave, not to mention the under floor heating. Good view of mountains. Great place, recommend it. Thanks.

The hotel is fairly easy to find with its large signage outside. The office is located at the rear of the property and there is a large area in front of it to turn vehicles around. There wasn't anyone in the office when we arrive but the blackboard did let us know which unit we were in. The room was already warm and it was quite comfortable.there was a single car park in front of the unit so it was fairly easy to get everything into the room. The room was quite spacious with a small dining area and a kitchenette. There was plenty of plugs around and the WiFi was easy to get on and decent.As Fairlie isn't very big, it was quite central to the town, being a few minute's walk away. It was also close to the museum. The driveway is off the main highway so it makes it a bit safer as the road adds a buffer.It was quite a nice stay. We only stayed overnight and there was no one in the office the following morning. I just left the keys in the room and texted the phone number as they weren't picking up the calls.

Fantastic place to stay! Warm, cozy spacious rooms with everything you need for a wonderful stay in Fairlie. Erin, the owner friendly and welcoming! Couldn't recommend enough!

The owner Tracey is the person who I look up to because of her personality. I’ve been impressed what she has done for me. When the last time I stayed there, I forgot my purse at this motel. She was so kind that she brought it to the next city. That was the best experience I’ve ever had in New Zealand.Of course this motel is super clean and spacious. Location is also great. I’d love to stay here again.
