Kate Sheppard Midwifery

I received wonderful midwifery care throughout my pregnancy, during my delivery and right up until then end of my post-natal care. Janet was very supportive and pragmatic and I would definitely recommend.

I rang Kate Shepard and they recommended Cloris Li as a Mandarin speaking midwife for me and my husband. On 16th November 2020, me and my husband have met her and signed a contract as an agreement we can only have one mid wife throughout the pregnancy. On 30th November 2020, she sent a long message on wechat and accusing us for finding other midwife as she “heard” some rumours from her work colleague, and she will invoice us $125 for that. I was very upsetting as she accusing us and saying us guilty for asking her is that the right attitude to speak to a client. She deleted my wechat and remove herself from our groupchat. Lastly, she also mentioned she doesn’t care if she lost a client like us. How rude to accusing someone without finding the truth. No apologies at all. I wish any pregnant lady especially only Mandarin speakers can find someone else instead of Cloris Li. Before any harms do to your mental health as a pregnant woman. Pregnant should be a joyful moment of your life, and get a REAL professional. After made a complaint to Kate Sheppard, the team tried to claim she was not part of their team, very unprofessional.

Not good at all. But depends who you get. We had a grouchy old lady who seemed bored out her skull with her job. Lots of eye rolling. Not one smile in all the visits we had. Horrible for my friend whose husband was away and it was her first baby. We saw other people with really lovely midwives coming out to meet them. We actually dreaded visiting her. I sent an email to her explaining how disappointed we were and not even a reply. Should have left after the first visit but its so hard to get a midwife.

The performance and care from our midwife during pregnancy was acceptable, however she took a long weekend’s holiday during the period my partner went into labour and gave birth to our first child. I feel that it is like doing a year’s worth of sports training, but not turning up for the big game, the one day that really matters. The guidance and support of the hospital midwife was fine, and the birth went well, so I feel that engaging a particular midwife isn’t really necessary - what is required is someone to ensure you have the right scans and blood tests as the right time, which a GP can probably do.Carparking space was also limited at the clinic.

My whole pregnancy journey was amazing because of Hayley Powell (my lovely midwife).She is a wonderful lady and pays attention to all my concerned. In my whole pregnancy I felt that she was always on my side and continuously helping me to make my pregnancy easy. In my pregnancy I developed diabetes so it was complicated to make a normal baby (also I had my first born c-section) but she helped me so much and I end up having a normal delivery without any complication. A very big thank you to Hayley for her great guidance. Without you it couldn't be possible for me to have a normal delivery.Thanks for making my delivery go very smooth and easy.I wish you all the very best in your life and looking forward to get you as a midwife if I become pregnant again in the future ♥️And also Kate Sheppard Midwifery is a wonderful places to be. All the staff there are very friendly and welcoming. I must say that they value there clients :)

I feel so lucky to have had Kathryn Powell with me throughout my pregnancy and birth, she always made me feel so calm and ‘normal’, she is very personable, highly experienced and is the best at what she does. She listened to everything I wanted with my birth and supported me throughout, and as a result, I loved my birth. The way she handled my baby was so soft and gentle which made me feel very comfortable with her in my home, this was something I never considered before birth but massively appreciated afterwards. I can’t thank her enough for her care and support! You will be very lucky to have her !!

I received amazing support from my midwife Kathryn Powell. Kathryn was always there for me with down-to-earth, warm and pragmatic advice. I felt confident that I had the best support possible.

Being a first child carrier, my sister was very upset as Cloris accused them and saying they were “guilty” for asking her is that the right attitude to speak to a client and claimed that they actually have found another midwife. She deleted my sister’s wechat and remove herself from their groupchat. Cloris was very rude towards my sister and her husband and she mentioned she doesn’t care if she lost a client like my sister as she gets plenty other pregnant women. I hope Kate Sheppard would take this matter seriously and investigate as there were plenty of screenshots of their entire conversation taken down. Such rude behavior and attitude towards pregnant women is unacceptable.

Great experience! I changed from a different practice to Jackie Graham at Kate shepherd. She is an amazing very knowledge thorough midwife who totally turned my stressful pregnancy around and provided me with the best care possible! I am very thankful for all the help & amazing care she gave me. Highly recommend!

No human being especially first child carrier should receive this negative impact and rudeness from midwife.
