EB Games

I was attended to by a fantastic sales rep called Mark over at Riccarton. Very knowledgeable and introduced me to things I can think about for the console I bought. He wasn't pushy and simply offered things which were necessary to protect the console. Great time at EB games and would go back just to get his insight.

Great Selection, decent prices. There is a wide selection of collectibles and games here which is hard to find in new Zealand.

Staff are really nice. Their sales are usually really good. Lines can be a bit long at times. Have shopped here before and will be back to shop again

Now I have no photos of it and frankly cannot be bother looking for prices but If i recall correctly I was interested in trading in Spiderman Miles Morales for the ps4. I Looked at the website and found the preowned versions offsale were about 70-80 bucks. (2022) Went into the store and traded it in for... guess how much, 30 dollars, thats a 100% markup on a Preowned, traded in game, also idk if this normal or not but man, I was not happy with 30 bucks.Other than that good place to get cheap games that have exsisted longer than your pets. Dont trade in just trade with your friends or something.

We shopped at the store at Riccarton which usually has good customer service. However, we met an extremely unhelpful and rude man named Sidney. We initially asked him for some help with purchasing PS games but he motioned towards the shelf and says everything is on the shelf. Which we had already looked at previously so we asked to for some help to check from the system so we can have a browse. His attitude was rude from the start, but after we asked again he didn't want to help. I suggested if he could filter the system and let us look at lego games for younger children. He was not happy so we moved away from him and asked a different lady to help. Then Sidney approached us again interrupted the staff that we approached with a strong attitude. My partner refused Sidney's help as we were already unhappy with his tone and tried avoiding him. But he was persistently rude and we told him to stop speaking to us (especially with his tone). He threatened to call security whilst the lady said nothing. I told him we didn't want to talk to him and to stop talking and approaching us. But he kept escalating the situation.After we bought, what we needed from the other staff we left.We went to hornby EB games as well after Riccarton and was greeted with amazing customer service by Liam. He helped us browse many many games and suggested a lot of new fun items for our kids. This is great customer service.

Karl(if I remembered correctly) was very friendly and helpful! He was very knowledgeable about the headsets and mics I was looking into and he helped me compare and decide what I wanted. He was very patient and answered all my questions. It was a very nice experience and I would definitely go there again!!

I have always had great service here, most recently from Chloe. I’ve come across consistently kind and friendly employees who happily chat away with my slightly obsessed kid who has lots of thoughts and questions about games. Well done team, you’re doing fantastic job.

Wicked friendly and knowledgeable staff. Always happy to help with pre-orders, collectibles and more. Huge range of pop culture collectibles from figurines to clothing and an extensive catalog of video and board games.

Customer Service is normally great here with other staff members. But Sidney is the rudest staff I have met in any store ever. I recently wanted to Price Match Callisto Protocol game to Jb Hi Fi.But he refused because the local Jb Hi Fi didn't have stock as it was delayed but they would be getting it in the next day. Ebgames loses the sale and I purchase it from Jb the next day.Every other Jb Hi Fi had it in Country.If it was older game that JB wasn't getting anymore stock I can understand not pricing matching.

They did their best. This is a small location with as much to offer as they can. You can definitely feel the GameStop overlords at work here. The employees are always great, offering all help they can. However, there seems to always be the pressure from above.
