Alpha CruX - Stargazing & Astrophotography

Arguably one of the best evenings we've ever spent! The incredible sight of stars moons and planets were just incredible. Fortunately, I’ve had a few opportunities earlier to see stars and Milky Way on a dark night, this was the first for my wife and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course our little one was equally excited and wanted to take a peek into the telescope at every opportunity.Joseph was amazing, he took time to introduce us to the stars and galaxies including his telescope. The tour was very well paced and we could take time to look at our favorite things. He had very good knowledge of the night sky and patiently addressed all our queries. He was very nice to our little one even when he had to do 2-3 takes to get the exposure right for the picture. Thanks to Joseph for making this memorable.

Joseph provided very professional service for our stargazing tour. He was readily contactable leading up to the tour.The tour itself was magical, Joseph was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the various constellations and processes involving the star life cycle. We also got to use his professional telescope equipment to view the stars.Joseph also expertly facilitated my engagement proposal during the tour itself, making it a once in a lifetime experience.I strongly recommend him for stargazing and astrophotography services.

Jane and I were given the most profoundly amazing star gazing experience. Joseph went out of his way to give us a night we will always remember. Because where we were staying would not allow him to set up in their garden, he guided us to a remote nature reserve. Besides moonlight there was no light pollution, which created a magical atmosphere. His robotic telescope located stars and planets for us to enter their mystical environments. We saw Saturn’s rings, the depth of our solar system and so much more. What brought our session to life was Joseph’s enthusiasm and expertise -he really knows his stars. Our experience was also deeply spiritual, in the sense we felt profound awe and wonder as we were given this unique experience. I had the pleasure of meeting Joseph recently for a combined stargazing lesson and a hands on astrophotography session.Joseph is extremely knowledgeable , personable and patient educator. I would happily engage Joseph again for more advanced tips and tricks for aastrophotography.I was able to capture several great shots using my own equipment and then using Joseph's equatorial tracking mount for longer exposures.I couldn't have been more happy with the experience and the passion that Joseph has for the subject matter is outstanding and infectious as I am already looking at additional lenses, a equatorial tracking mount.

Mind-blowing experience. Joseph is able to share complicated concepts in an understandable and compelling 'storytelling' style. This was a life-changing experience. We can't thank him enough! Highly recommend!

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our Star gazing experience with Joseph. The communication was excellent and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about our night sky being able to answer any questions we had. It was also super convenient that he was able to bring the tour to our Airbnb. We loved looking through the telescope and seeing an abundance of planets and stars. The biggest bonus was the photo we received after so that we are able to look back on our experience. Definitely a highlight of our New Zealand trip and would recommend it to everyone! We’ll definitely be telling our friends about it when we get home thanks again!

Joseph arrived at the Lindis Lodge with blankets and telescope on a February (summer) night for an evening of dark sky stargazing. The star man toured us around the night sky. As the evening got darker and colder we sipped hot chocolate and learned about the immense size and beauty of our galaxy. It's always good to spend time with a teacher who loves his work and shares it with others. Thank you Joseph.

joseph is too good when it comes to star gazing . he explained everything to us really well and we even got to see the milky way for the first time it was wonderful and a great experience for all of us thanks to him !

We had such a fun time exploring the night sky with Joseph during our honeymoon stay at Skyscape. Joseph was very professional, easy to communicate with, and flexible as we monitored the weather conditions and figured out the best time to see the stars on a given day. He came out to us with all of the necessary equipment and was super friendly and knowledgeable about astronomy. He catered to our knowledge level and answered all of our questions. We highly recommend this unique and cool experience to anyone considering it!
