Midas Lower Hutt

Just visited the shop this morning. Hand on heart, awesome service. Credit to the bossman and everyone working there for chipping in to check my car and restore my confidence to drive it without worrying about a thing. Be back soon.

Service performed. Operator/manager seemed disinterested in performing work on my vehicle. After much convincing by me he reluctantly said he'd call me tomorrow (Tuesday) and hasn't. Overall a waste of my time, and others to go to a mechanic that seems unwilling to perform mechanical work.

I called asking for some information regarding my servicing. One of the staff members complained that he had “just arrived at work” and “not had my coffee yet”. I asked to speak to someone else and overheard in earshot the member of staff say “can you help this Turkey, I don’t even know what he wants”. Abysmal customer service.

Mohammed and the team at Midas provide an excellent and timely service, every time! I have taken my car there on numerous occasions, for general services and also specific jobs. They are great at estimating prices and getting parts quickly. Recently I had my engine mount replaced and Mohammed showed me the old part which was clearly worn and needed replacing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Midas and the team at Lower Hutt! :)

It has been a big day. We stayed in Wellington last night with Janelle’s daughter, imagine my surprise when I discovered The Flat White had been stolen from outside their house in Lower Hutt.Not a good look, considering we were meant to be on the ferry 4 hrs later.We reported the theft to the cops and ‘detective Margot’ put up a post on the local Facebook page.5 minutes later someone from two streets away posted, it was outside their house.What a lucky find! Only damage was a smashed ignition lock and all the tools , torches etc were gone.They couldn’t get the engine to start. Very lucky!Also very lucky, the bikes (and Dean’s ladder) were still there.We think they may have been interrupted.A quick call to the guys at Midas Lower Hutt and they came out and sorted the lock out and we got on our way to the ferry, just in time for the final check in!Thanks ‘Detective Margot’ and the guys at Midas Lower Hutt, you rock!Yep, it has been quite a morning . . .Cheers Brett

I rarely write online review but I need to make an exception this time. After being their customer for a few good years and have always been happy about it, today my car couldn't start due to battery failure. It was a very wet and windy day I rang the shop and Douglas (I hope I got his name right) came to my house to start the engine. I then drove to the shop and got my battery replaced, door lubricating fixes at the sole cost for new battery. Muhammed and his team are always polite, honest and helpful. I will remain their customer for as long as I stay in Lower Hutt area.

My wife took my car there with a radiator issue she was told it was the radiator cap by one guy and told it was the actual radiator that was at fault by another guy supposed mechanic dont think they even plugged in a diagnostic scan tool cause I did and got a code for faulty thermostat straight away so I wouldn't even bother with these guys never ever again would I let these guys near my car awesome in my opinion not.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! These people are incompetent at best and a total scam at worst. I had my BMW towed here with overheating and their diagnosis was blown head gasket that would require a new head gasket and suspected a completely new engine when they could remove everything and see more damage. They suggested I sell the car for scrap. I talked to 3 different mechanics at Midas Lower Hutt and they all said the same. I then had the car towed away to Hutt City European who I’ve used before and they replaced the electric water pump because that was all that was wrong!!! No head gasket damage at all. AVOID MIDAS LOWER HUTT AT ALL COSTS! If I could give zero stars I would!

What a great service. I walked in at 7.30am saying my car was broken down on the other side of town. They said they'd look at it and let me know the issue. After the AA dropped it off they updated me with a quote to fix. By 5pm it was fixed and I got the invoice which was less than quoted. Great care and service. Thanks heaps.
