Ace Rental Cars Queenstown Airport

We encountered a frustrating situation with Ace picking up the rental car. We learnt the branch at 50 Grant Road was closed through a notice on the door due to staffing issues. We called their support line and were then informed the rental needs to be picked up from the airport. To prevent others from facing the same inconvenience, a simple solution would be to update the Google business listing, directing customers to pick up their rentals from the airport instead or at least making this temporarily closed. If you are hiring through Ace, please contact them and inquire about the correct pick-up location to avoid unnecessary expenses and confusion. Despite this setback, we would rate our experience with Ace three stars, considering the car price, quality, and the support received from the person on the helpline.

Try to return the car to here in a working day during working hours. Drive to here, found a note stick on the door said no one work here today, please return car to the airport to hertz.There's no notification about the office close in prior. No one email or call us about it.Hope they can organise the office hour shifting better in the future, don't surprise the customer in the last minute.

Great service from Ace Rentals. Fantastic 2021 car and friendly staff. Easy shuttle to the airport. Look forward to using them again.

Great service, the best price and a better car that we were expecting.

I’ve rented 5 times in NZ from different companies, and the recent one with ACE is the worst ever. Here are the reasons:1: the staff who dealt with my car pickup is deceitful. The rental booking was from a third party company “airport rental” and a full insurance was purchased at the same time when I made the booking. From my previous experiences, the staffs from other companies were all well aware of it, they just told me, your insurance is not with us, so if anything happens you need to go to the insurance company. So I know the car rental companies can see my full insurance has already been purchased. However, the staff from ACE didn’t mention it at all, and 7-8 months after I made the booking, I don’t really remember if I bought full insurance or not. He tried to persuade me to purchase a full insurance from ACE again. I then spent some time digging out some old emails to make sure my car was fully protected.2: the car they provided was the worse. Can you imagine a car in 2023, you need to use the car key first, then push the unlock button, then the other doors can be opened finally. And the tank reading is very misleading, sometimes even get higher when you drive for a while.3: the return procedure is VERY unclear! The stall just told me to return the car at Queenstown airport ACE. So I Google mapped ACE Queenstown airport, when I got there, it was closed already and no one was there to drive us to the airport, only a return box at the door. So I called to ask how can we go to airport after return the key, a lady told me to drive to the airport, they have a parking lot. When I got there, no sign of ACE at all! I called again, she told me to park under Herts and they are the same company. I don’t understand why no one told me before? Why they assume people know all these? What if people are in a hurry to catch a flight, how stressful they can be?Anyway, will never use ACE again, worse experience ever!

Horrible service, they charge they hidden cost often. Then make you get confused in. Terms and conditions so on. Ace rental deduct my money after 2 weeks of checkout without even notify me. I call them and find out it was administered fee something which I wasn't even aware. I was asking to the staff what is happening;her reply was you should read the terms and conditions or either make formal complaint. Sad thing is she hasn't agree that the taking someone money without even telling them. So frustrated RN. I will never deal with them again.

Although the pricing was very good, the dropoff point was closed so had to drop off at Hertz at airport (which was a hassle. Car could have been cleaned better before being picked up.

Loved their service and the car they gave. It was comfortable and we had no problem for 5 days we used. Quick and easy online booking and pick up and drop off just outside Airport. Really nice car for really cheap price. Highly recommended. Will rent a car from them next time too.

Terrible service!!Paid a deposit before being allowed to collect the car.On returning the vehicle were told that we would have to apply to have the deposit returned?We have emailed and called to enquire where our money is and have been flogged around to the point that their phone goes no where etc!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They are not onsite at the airport but will have a shuttle van to pick you up. The driver is very informative and hard case. The paperwork is quite simple and they have a good system in place. We had booked an intermediate SUV, we got a Mitsubishi Outlander. It was an older model but good space and pick up.Customer service - The guy that checked us in was quite friendly. When dropping the vehicle off, it wasn't clear what I was meant to do. A guy grabbed the key to check over, we waited and then the suttle van pulled up. I asked the lady at the counter what we are expected to do, sign paperwork or can we go? Let's just say she lacks good manners in how she relays info to customers. It felt like I was bothering her. It didn't deter my day but she was the first person like this during my whole trip in Queenstown.
