Saltwater Eco: Surf & Snorkel Lessons, Tours & Rentals

It was so much fun. We were doing a private (beginners) surf lesson with Stuart. Stuart was so patient with us. Encouraging us to keep trying. We felt safe as he kept us all together and chose the right waves for us. I would highly recommend Stuart expecially if you are new to surfing.

A++ experience with Lydia. Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone! :-)Lydia was an amazing snorkelling guide for our experience in the Tawharanui marine reserve. We had a terrific time. Not only was Lydia knowledgable about marine life that we would see during our time in the ocean but we also got an education about the ocean ecosystem and the impacts of us humans on the environment.Lydia is super passionate about what she does and we were impressed with her dropping knowledge bombs on us about the marine reserve and the birds that were roaming the provincial park. It elevated the experience even more.She took some fantastic photos of us snorkelling as well as the marine life we encountered within. She is great at snorkelling at the pace that lets you enjoy it while also helping point out interest marine creatures so you don’t miss a beat.After we got back on shore, she provided some very welcoming water and date energy balls that were delicious.If that wasn’t enough to close out our time with Lydia, she recommended this oyster shack near the Tawharanui provincial park that was the perfect post-snorkelling snack. We were so thankful for her thoughtfulness.Overall, I would recommend Lydia if you are looking for an excellent and experienced snorkelling guide.

I am sorry, i am bit late in dropping this review. My friends and I had great time here. I was already into surfing and i got to learn new technique which was holding back my progress so thank you very much for that. The wetsuits were great but i wish they had hard board and not soft board. Overall i was really happy with everything these guys had to offer. Cheers

We have taken a surf lesson with Lidia from Saltwatereco and iT was lovely. We were lucky and only had the two of us in the morning session, so we got lots of instructions and tips. And i really learned New stuff, but most of all, lidia Made us feel very confident in the water. They take really good care of you, good equipment, sunscreen, Some fresh water and bliss balls :) really Nice spot to surf @omaha beach! We would definately go back to have more lessons with Saltwatereco

Amazing experience, highly recommend, can't wait to go again. Relaxed, friendly, enjoyable atmosphere. Lydia was very good at recognising and explaining what I needed to do to achieve the next step. Good equipment, small groups.

Family of 5 had three lessons with Paul. Massive improvements with most standing day 1, everyone, even unco dad, standing day 2, and then everyone paddling into waves on day 3. Family now hooked. Paul was fantastically patient. Kids thought he was cooler than Fonzi. Thanks Lydia for arranging. Use these guys. They are great. Mike

Lydia is awesome. She was super nice and helpful. Broke everything down and explained things in detail. The waves were pretty tame but we made the most of it and it was a good way to learn some wave watching and timing of the waves. If I could have worked it out with my schedule I would have went out again with them the next day.

Goat Island is a great place to learn snorkeling, and Saltwater Eco has such friendly instructors who make it easy as.

Saltwater Eco showed our boys aged 7 and 11 a fantastic time in a beginner surf private lesson as a duo. They had so many laughs while learning great skills in a fun and safe environment.They both got up on the surf board and it has peaked their interest. Top quality wetsuits all provided and they looked brand new. Homemade bliss balls were a great touch. Thanks again

We won a voucher for their snorkelling a while ago and just used it this week, we were no let down. At goat island we were provided with all the gear we needed including wetsuits and went out snorkelling for 2 hours. Lydia knew all the best spots and could name any fish we pointed out 10/10 had a great time
