Had lunch here today... Brisket, mash and gravy, corn on the cob, pickled onion and greens... I thought it was ok ... Brisket was fatty and done very good but not the best... for 32$... I'll stick to the chicken next time... and there will be a next time... shout-out to the staff at Boneface...

Surprised for a Friday evening dinner to get a table in a city venue and be able to take a dog inside , great start, good vibes and cool place from a blink and miss it from the outside.We had a few samples to figure which drinks to have served by the awesome bar staff - opting for The Wizard and a Plum sour. Great tasting drinks.We ordered food for 3 was enough for 4 - brisket tacos, Korean fried chicken, garlic bread and for the the highlight Katsu Fries. The food was quick , hot and tasted good , thanks chef!Would defo come back again for a beer or even just for the fries ( Boneface don't change them - they were perfect)

Food was okay not that great and a bit long wait. Not a great place for good. Friends are okay with drink.we had no idea where to get cultery the staffs didn't let us know we need to get by our self.The cheesy chips comes with very little quantity of cheese.Not recommending for food.

Highly recommend coming here. Place was packed when we arrived (without a booking) but the staff were super accommodating and sorted us out. Food was amazing and the service speed was incredible. Loved the beers we had ‘the unit’ and ‘the outlaw’Brilliant afternoon outting.

Another small town brewery with great beer and a cool location. Has locally brewed and tasty beer. Excellent pub food, tried a meat lovers selection which was extroadinary. Having dogs welcome is a winning idea. Staff are friendly and helpful!

UPDATE: had lunch at Boneface yesterday, the great food is back. Had the buttermilk chicken and the aged sirloin - both were top notch!I'm not exactly thrilled to write this but it looks like my recent experience has been others experience too in the past few days. We first visited early March 2021 based on rave reviews from friends about the food. We had a double birthday celebration and everyone was blown away by the food. This week we went back and the menu had been changed, new chef apparently. All the good menu items were gone and the food was literally glorified bar food. My boys both had burgers that were big sliders. It wasn't a cheap meal out ie the gourmet prices for pub grub. We don't drink so while I'm sure the beer is the main attraction it's really disappointing to have taken a turn like this. They did say the menu was only temporary so I really really hope they sort themselves out and bring back the amazing food.

Boneface's meals use to be great, the selection now is quiet minimum. The quality is at the bottom end. $32 for dried out brisket which which more like pulled beef. Three cold corn, and mashed potatoes is not worth it. Please bring back pizzas and shared plates.

Very disappointed with the service. Stepped inside as it was cold and was refused food as we didn’t ask which tables were reserved. Staff kicked us off the table stating there was a reservation at 5:30pn, we left at 6:00pmAnd table was still empty. It’s disappointing to come over to experience what NZ has to offer and to receive treatment as we did. Would not recommend.
