It was our first time going to this place. I was surprised the ocean wasn’t that cold @ 3pm swim even if it’s already April. The beach has this refined sand and wide shoreline. Waves weren’t that huge and has gradual down slope of sand beneath it, a reason my kids enjoyed it. Plenty of camping sites with beautiful mountains. Facilities always cleaned by the staffs. Great playground. Almost five stars for me if not for the mice climbing our tent at night when about to sleep. Not a big problem, just a reminder to store your food securely.

It's a perfect spot for camping with your kids. Such a beautiful place with big kitchen, clean toilets and a nice playground. The change of tides is spectacular there. We'll be coming back for sure!

Lovely place. Reception staff was nice and helpful, amenity rooms are incredibly clean and enough stoves for everyone. Scenery amazing! If it wasn't for the tight schedule I could have stayed there for weeks!

The trip start early in the morning after been in Akaroa, Hickory bay and driving the tourist route I decided to stop in Okains bay for take a rest. I found the campground awesome nice plants in flower (also if autumn) around the camp in front of the beach in 1 minutes walk.I raccomend the campground for a nice chill restGreat facilitiesShower 2$Hope to be back in summer!Book online

We didn't stay in the campground but spend some time in the reserve and on the beach. The cam looked very nice, quiet and well looked after. The beach was beautiful, sandy, safe for kids. We had there lots of fun! There is a little playground there as well with couple of swings. Great little place

The most beautiful beach and campsite! Friendly staff, super clean facilities. I love the new gate at the front of the camp ground - it slows cars down, and reduces the number of cars traveling through the campsite unnecessarily. Thanks for a relaxing stay! Ps. Even got to see some dolphins while out kayaking!
