Mobile Pet Vaccine
After careful consideration, we decided to entrust Mobile Pet Vaccine to euthanise our very unwell 10 year old cat. We assumed having him put to rest at home was the right thing to do as he had a severe and untreatable lung disease with rapid breathing and we did not wish to cause him any excess stress in a cage in his final moments.Firstly, they were very quick to respond to my online enquiry and fortunately they had a few time slots available the same day which was very helpful. I informed them that kitty was skittish/scared of strangers and they suggested it could be done in a small room.We met Para and Jane promptly at the booked in time. They were quiet but friendly and respectful. I did not know what to expect next and asked them if the procedure would be easier for them to be done at waist height and they said no, anywhere is fine and suggested the hard floor initially as sometimes pets urinate during. I asked if I should go and get kitty and they nod/agree. So I bring a very scared/scrambling kitty out and was handed a form to fill out so I had to pass poor kitty to my partner to take back to the bedroom and noticed kitty starting to pant from stress. After filling out and signing the form, they explained kitty was to be sedated and what to expect with this. After my partner brought out our scared/scrambling kitty back into the living room, they placed a towel over kitty's head and this unfortunately caused kitty to bite and scratch my partners hands/arms repeatedly (He is a transplant patient and immune compromised so he had to go and attend to his wounds immediatly so missed out on saying goodbye) so I had to go and retrieve kitty from hiding by grabbing him by the scruff for them to inject the sedative. This was absolutely awful. I then sat cuddling, petting and talking to kitty during the 5 minutes while the sedative kicked in. This is the only part of the process I am trying to treasure in my mind. Unfortunately after all of that, it then took 3 attempts to put the lure in, Para asked if kitty was on any medication and named one which he was not, he had been on antibiotics only (I wonder if I should not have chosen the floor but at the time I was so distraught I just wanted it to be over for everybody's sake, including our teenager who wanted to be there for us, who was also far to upset to say goodbye) and it was finally, painstakingly all over. I then notice they were struggling to pick up and carry their equipment so I offer to help pick up a box for them and they said yes please and both walked outside put their shoes on and started walking away, I guess assuming I would carry their box out to the car. Slightly unprofessional I felt.A very traumatising experience on top of what we assumed would be a stress-free service. I feel that perhaps a little more communication/guidance would have been very helpful. Surely in this line of work they would have dealt with scared pets and would have some experience with it. Maybe not.I wish it could have been a better experience for everybody. However, we had kitty cremated and used their recommended Pet Cremations Limited for a box and plaque who did an amazing job. Para and Jane both kept us in the loop with the process and dropped off kitty's ashes and were very respectful in doing so.I wish them both the best and hope something has been learnt for the future.

I cannot thank Para and Jane enough for being so incredibly professional, gentle and quick in attending to our sweet cats euthanasia. They have made it affordable enough that we could have it done in our home allowing our cat to be in the happy environment she wanted to be in. Para was very quick to respond, he understood the urgency of our request and managed to do the euthanasia the same day. Thank you both and God bless you. You are two amazing people.
