I will raise my concerns below to the SPCA complaints directly however, for reasons of transparency, I decided to post this on Facebook.The SPCA is pushing good owners away.All we wanted to do is simply have a look a their dogs to see what is there and to get a feel of what may or may not suit.You now have to complete an application process and send photos of your fenced property, then book in a time so you can look at dogs that THEY think suit you. Your greeting with a wall of paperwork sprinkled with a dose of patronization.I would understand if there was a set time for viewing to give the dogs a routine and time to settle. We are grown ups and responsible for our own decisions. Surely it be better to allow YOU to choose your own pet? Once you choose then surely it would then be appropriate to undergo a vetting process?

Unexpectedly gifted a parcel to help me feed a rescue dog for a week likely more. Thank you so much. He's such an amazing dog & Puppy thanks you also.

Lived just down the road from the SPCA Tauranga. Had a knock on the door requesting a donation to SPCA. Told them unfortunately I was a student so I couldn't really offer a donation of money however I was interested in giving my time to help clean the areas or dog walk etc. The reply I got was that they did not want any more volunteers and that they have a saying that is be a koha not a hoha". After a few more minutes of peer pressure I asked them to leave and wrote off the SPCA as a group I will not offer any assistance to in the future."

Rang them twice today with no answer on both calls. Had what looked like a distressed cat with an eye missing hanging around my yard didn't know who to call. Not a massive fan of cats but looked like the animal needed help. Waste of time if you can't answer the phone within business hours.

Lovely place, very helpful

Lovely people and facility for dogs and cats but needs more funding. I hope the animals get adopted quickly because their conditions there are are a little sad to see.The government needs to fund these shelters better!
