Waipiata Motel

We, like most others, stayed here for a night while riding the rail trail. We were the only ones that night and were a bit late in. The weather that day on the trail was poor and Jen was eagerly awaiting our arrival and could not have been more helpful. She assisted us cleaning our gear and even gave us another small gift which allowed us to get to the pub without getting wet. We were so very appreciative. Simply wonderful accommodation. Hope you enjoyed the red Jen.

Jen is a superb hostess, and is vivacious, outgoing and passionate about where she lives and the people around her. Although she hasn't lived in the district for long she already knows everyone and has a great knowledge of the area and gives excellent commentary as she drives you to your accommodation.We were riding the Otago Rail Trail and found the Waipiata Motel a great place to spend the night. It is a Lockwood building so there are some of the associated creaks and groans that come with them, but the units are well appointed and very comfortable - and Jen treats every customer like they're stars.I'd make it a two-night stay if we ride the Trail again to explore the region from this great location.

Stayed as we were doing the Central Otago Rail Trail. Jen really made us feel at home. Fantastic place to stay, very clean, tidy, just lovely really. Highly reccomended!

Very welcoming and friendly host Jen who provided a delicious home made afternoon tea on arrival. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean with large bathroom. Lovely verandah for relaxing and enjoying the local area books supplied by Jen. Supplied breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Perfect stop over on the rail trail

By far our best accomodation on the Otago Rail Trail! Jen’s hospitality, attention to detail and beautiful space is unmatched! Comfy beds, quiet, beautifully decorated rooms and yummy breakfast. Thanks for having us Jen and Grant x

Amazing place, developed and maintained with love. From the comfy chairs on the veranda, lovely rooms, salubrious bathrooms, well provisioned brekkie in old school milk bottles, butter and even avocados for avo on toast, books and toys left out for the kids, Jenn really has gone the extra mile for this place. Just awesome!
