Ambury Park campground
Lovely and peaceful campground. Lots of flat, grassy places, pit toilet, drinking water, BBQ.Singing birds and animal farm noises in the background. And yet, next to the city.It can get windy here, but you can find a spot amongst trees for cover.

Lovely campground managed by the Auckland City Council, bookable via their website. Basic toilet/shower facilities (no hookup/dump). Farm's just a stone's throw away, perfect for families to spend time with the animals.

Super close to Auckland. Gorgeous animals. Toilet, sink to wash dishes and water. Lots of space to park and beautiful spot.

Peaceful campground in a beautiful park. We stayed there twice, ideal location close to the airport before dropping off your van. On our last day, I somehow lost my phone and some very kind people found it and brought it to the ranger office, which were super nice and helpful. Thanks to the whole Auckland City Council team!

If you are flying into or out of Auckland this is a perfect place to stay. You can donate or pick up some items from/for your travels. Top tip of your on a tight budget or don't want to throw your camping gear in the rubbish.Lovely campground with a view across the bay. The petting farm next door is nice for children. Unfortunately the bbq at the campground was out of order.

Family friendly, has few BBQ places you can use during summer (requires pre bookings). Lots sheeps, 2 beautiful horses called Colin and Connor - always appeared to be well trained and well behaved. Currently the Watercare coastline walk is closed to the public. It probably takes you an hour and half to two to complete the walk.

Great experience to camp at the Ambury Park Campground. We were looking to stay at a ordinary campground close to the airport and found a little paradise 20 minutes away from it. The owner is so very nice and the campsite itself is beautiful with chicken running around and many animals to watch. We especially loved to take a walk at sunset to the volcanic beach, which is only 2 minutes away. The toilets are very basic but if you are looking for a place full of life and nature and conveniently close to the airport if Auckland, it’s the best place to stay!
