Kokonga Lodge
My partner and I stayed at Kokonga Lodge over Easter as part of the Otago Rail Trail, and it was such a highlight! The hosts Geoff & Jo were lovely and gracious. We had amazing home-made & home-grown food. The rooms were beautiful and it was a great atmosphere chatting with the hosts & other guests. Would recommend to anyone doing the Rail Trail or just looking for a weekend away. Bliss!

Kokonga Lodge
My husband and I stayed a night at Kokonga Lodge a couple of weeks ago as part of our ride on the Otago Rail Trail and had a wonderful time. The Lodge itself is in a stunning location and very homely and comfortable. Geoff and Jo are lovely people and welcomed us warmly to their place - I would also say that dinner there was the best meal we had while we were on the trail! Those lamb shanks Jo!! We would most definitely stay again.

Beautiful place to stay stunning views, lovely and quite. Our room was lovely and clean and soft towels which I loved after biking all day. Even the smell of roses was a lovely touch. Food was delicious and new owners Joe and Geoff made us feel at home as soon as we got there. Beautiful setting and the gardens under their care will be back to what they once were. Quail were around on the lawn it was just awesome.

Kokonga Lodge is the gem of the Raul trail! It's incredible all the way around! We biked up after a day if cycling to this most beautiful property! The gardens are exquisite. We loved meeting Jo and Jeff! They are fantastic hosts. The meal was delicious. The rooms are beautiful! What a treat! Thank you so much for having us! The Williams family and my parents!Absolutely wonderful!

Absolutely brilliant - beautiful house, everything kept immaculate, but also a very friendly and warm atmosphere with lovely, laid-back and helpful hosts. Delicious baking too! And Monty the golden retriever is gorgeous. A peaceful getaway in luxurious comfort.

We had amazing hospitality and felt very welcome. Great pool with an awesome view of the mountains in the distance. A couple of bonuses, one was the homemade elderberry jam and the look through the partially restored 1897 original school house. A very nice stop on the trail.

Fantastic stay! Jo & Geoff were great hosts, the food was incredible. All home cooked and extremely fresh. We enjoyed a cheese platter by the pool after a long hot day of cycling and a much needed bottle of Rosè. Their wine list supports all the local vineyards and was a nice way to enjoy what’s on offer in the region. Of course Monty was a hit! Jo & Geoff take pride in the grounds and were discussing future plans to the gardens, a huge job between preparing for guests. Thank you, we will be back!

We were lucky enough to stay in this beautiful Lodge during our rail trail journey. Our hosts were lovely and friendly, the rooms very comfortable and the food was all homemade and delicious. The location and view is stunning. We would highly recommend Kokonga Lodge to anyone lucky enough to be passing through this region.

Stayed here on the Otago Rail Trail. Beautiful location. Friendly hosts, delicious home-cooked dinner. Poolside setting for relaxing. Lovely gardens. Cosy living room to relax.
