Incredible expensive. Panettone for 70$? Not to talk about cheese, salami and chocolate. There are other Italian/Mediterranean shops around NZ but this is the most expensive so far! No Italians are working there, maybe there is a reason ;) Staff is also not nice but not all of them. Two star is because they have a good selection of vinegars and oils.

The best one stop shop for great cooks.Sublime, top quality deli. produce from Italy, Spain, France & New Zealand. Knowledgeable family owned business, they love sharing recipes so you can cook with class & confidence.Cheese room has perfectly ripen cheeses, tasting available and a thoughtful wine selection to match all this deliciousness!!!

Such friendly helpful staff who will make you a coffee to drink while you shop. The taste testers are so handy in making decisions when purchasing. I always leave with way more than I came for. I learned from the awesome staff how to make baked Parmesan rinds. I gave it a go at home. It was a great success

My absolute favourite gourmet food supplier for many years. Actually, one of my favourite shops for many years. Their products aren't cheap, but they're not run-of-the-mill products. They have LOTS of stuff on tasting which makes shopping failsafe and much easier. Sometimes I have asked to try something that isn't out for tasting and they've happily opened one up. They often have really good specials too.You can try any of their cheeses in the cabinet and it's so great to be able to buy them by weight. The staff are amazingly knowledgeable, unlike at other posh food stores where the staff don't even know the names of the cheeses they stock, let alone what they tastes like.Sabato also has a great rewards program that is really attainable and your points never seem to expire. I do all my pressie shopping here and the recipients are always delighted with my gifts. It's easy to find, and there's loads of free off-street parking.

In my opinion, this shop is not worth the trip. On arrival there, I was surprised how small it is and I could not feel any genuine Italian atmosphere. Apart from a a few grotesquely overpriced oils and panforte, cookbooks and paper napkins, and fresh food that can be found at any sub-standard deli like Farro, I fail to see what the big attraction is. It feels more like a mini emporium at an airport, and not even an Italian airport. Add to that a surfeit of vacuous staff who cannot be bothered to ask you if they can be of assistance, and you end up with a typical useless kiwi business. My main grievance though is this: I naively thought I would see what the big pow wow was about and thought I would give this a try. I phoned in advance to specifically set aside a number of tins which I knew would get sold out very quickly over Christmas. The guy on the phone said 'no problem, we have plenty of stock but I will set aside 2 tins for you anyway'. The next day I show up (having wasted time and money to get there), only to be told: 'oh sorry, we are out of stock, and your tins were sold to someone else by mistake - It is hectic around Christmas'. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You cannot even half-manage a little pretentious business, and then you make excuses for yourselves? My advice to the readers: Save your time and money, and order from overseas - it will be better, cheaper, and will arrive more quickly anyway.

A splendid array of goods for food lovers and cooks. And especially, as the old saying goes: it’s the putting right that counts. I commend Sabato on being very helpful when things didn’t go according to plan. Well done, Brooke!

Friendly staff and high quality food from brands that you probably can't find in any other retailer. And that's not even starting on their from our kitchen" section. The food they make onsite is delicious putting it lightly. They make even frozen meals taste like heaven! I would recommend some items to buy but the list would take too long to write. They also sell high quality kitchenware and really nice soap.Overall a really wide selection of products to choose from
