Labyrinth Rocks

Wow! This place is awesome! I couldn’t believe these fantastically eroded rock corridors and formations, and the imaginative names that have been attached to them. The map on the signboard by the toilet at the entrance is very helpful. We just took a copy and then returned it when we left.Some places have toys among the rocks — fun for the kids young and old to find.Google Maps has the location of the small parking area exactly correct. It’s easy to get to, and there is no admission fee though donations for upkeep can be made.It took us about an hour to cover most of it, and I was taking lots of pictures. If you are there with little ones, keep a close eye on them. Parts of it are maze-like and it would be easy for a child to get separated and frightened. I had a hard time keeping up with where my partner was!

Incredible rock formations situated just outside Takaka township. The locals have done a great job looking after this place. There is a brochure/ map available at the entrance and it’s worth taking it with you to explore this natural wonder.

The Labyrinth is a hidden gem, only down the road from the Grove, it's a great little site to explore. Definitely visit this if you're in the area, there are hidden toys to spot as you look around alongside interesting rock shapes.

Awesome walk thru natural rock formation, lots of interesting shapes, great for kids of all ages. Bird life too.

A fun little stop, took about 45 minutes going through but couldn’t get to spots 1&2 because there was too much mud to pass through.Very cool rock formations! A fun little spotting scavenger hunt as you go throughWould be a great spot to bring kids!

This is one of the best free experiences. Loads of fun wandering thru the tunnels and alleys. Would be fun for kids as there is only one way out so they won't get lost

Cute place, but not too much. We expected a bit more, but great rocks and moss. Liked the hidden plastic toys because of the kids.

We really enjoyed this area! Paths are somewhat marked. Note there is mud in areas (whem we were there. Highly recommend!

Cool place with beautiful rock formations. Not recommended to do on a rainy day as it's quite muddy. But overall a nice adventure.
