Amazing stop, right by the water. Has nearby toilet and coverage. Great place to stay.

Amazing free camping spot with public toilets (24/7 open) nearby. We went for a walk to the red rocks to spot seals and it was amazing! Also a great spot for stargazing. Only downside: it gets full very quickly. We were lucky to find a spot when we arrived at around 4 pm.

One of the best freedom campsite wellington has to offer. Great spots with awesome views of the shoreline, could be windy at times though. decent public toilets plus a coffee cart on the premises. Short walk/scoot to the shopping area too.

Nice parking and also nice for spend a night with your self-contained camper. Be aware that it can be very windy. You have 2 flushed and semi cleaned toilets. Make sure, that your staying on the over night parking area which is quiet small even during off-season. Saw a lot of campers that were fined with 200$. At the beach you sometimes find paua shells. On weekends it is very corwded.

It is a camp ground located at the southernmost tip of NZ North Island. When the weather is nice, you can see the South Island. It's difficult to get to Red Rocks 4wd trucks beyond the camp ground with regular car tires.

Limited amount of spots for self contained vehicles, but on a beautiful location (in a beautiful residential area as well) and it’s free! There’s a few toilets and a rubbish bin, being serviced each morning. There could be a lot of wind, so bring earplugs for sleeping.A 15 minute walk gets you to a bus stop where bus 29 passes; this bus brings you to the heart of the city for 2,5 NZD single trip or 5 NZD for a return trip (Explorer ticket allows you to take as many buses that day as you want).

Even though it’s a popular spot for self contained vehicles, we had a very quiet night. In the morning we saw two big pods of dolphins passing by, an incredible sight.

It's a carpark but with great walks, views and sunsets on your temporary doorstep. One of the better freecamp spots and definitely better than Evans Bay. Currently in May there are spots free until 5pm roughly but its full every night!

Great spot for self contained freedom camping with beautiful views, clean flushing toilets with soap and water. You can walk along the coast to see seals and only a short drive from Wellington. There is a coffee truck but not sure of opening hours.
