Eccles Coins and Banknotes

Very disappointed with the service from Eccles. I travelled from Australia to visit the shop. Had to wait as the shop keeper was late opening up. Asked to see some notes. Asked to buy some banknotes and the shopkeeper went through them and put some aside without me knowing. I went through the pile I was purchasing and questioned where the particular note was that I wanted. He said he decided not to sell it to me. Very strange! I then proceeded to spend the next 45 minutes going through notes that were for sale and handed him a pile to purchase. One note in particular had a price sticker of $50 NZ. I went to pay for it and he said, I'm sorry if I've misled you but I would like $400 for that note. He then went and increased the price of all the other notes I wanted to buy. The prices were at lest 4 times the retail price. Extremely disappointed I handed them all back and told him on principle I wouldn't purchase anything. Disrepectful, overprices and unethical is how I would describe Eccles shop.

The 'Only' Coin dealer we could find. Make sure you have 'Walking' on your Mobile GPS. Good selection to look at.

Very helpful and friendly service

This place has improved greatly, a new location and much more friendly and capable staff. Its the shop I remember back in the 90s.

Nice guy, honest, gave me a good deal on some gold coins. Not so easy to get hold of but worth a few calls.

Small place and real easy to find, but knowledgeable staff and worth the stop.
