Hutt Hospital

What a waste of time, this happened on 18th of march around 6.30 pm I have got two my eldest one is autistic and my youngest one was sick with eye discharge and cough during the night with whistles they recently arrived from India and don't have a registered GP, So we went for check up they took 2 hours and still when you ask them they advise that we give service based on emergency, Is there a procedure to follow if it is then what it is? and because of this my two kids while we were in hospital were making noises and my first has started doing tantrums, seriously the staff was least helpful would not recommend anyone. instead of helping they give you feedback form to fill. Such a nice way of helping someone when there is need.

Wonderful caring, friendly and professional. We are so thankful to the ED team for admitting my husband so fast with injuries from a mountain bike accident. Thank you to the nurses on the ward who were very attentive and compassionate. Thank you to the surgery team who were very knowledgeable and understanding. Thank you to Sue and the pain management team that listened and sorted out the best treatment for pain. Thank you to the ladies who bought the food in and who were very thoughtful and caring. Lastly thank you to the parking warden who was immensely understanding and helped us with parking for our motorhome. You are all a credit to Hutt Hospital! Andy & Jo

Breakfast was sparse and the view was nonexistent. Great staff though and the complimentary gown was a nice touch. Nice beds with fresh clean sheets. Recommended

If you're the kind of person who likes a dismissive and uncaring triage supervisor, you'll really enjoy the Hutt ED. While the reception staff, and initial triage nurse were lovely and helpful, the attitude of the supervising nurse screamed I hate patients" and "how dare you waste my time with your petty complaint" which

Another great service by useless ED.. been there with severe stomach ache and they advised minimum waiting hour is 4 hrs. I was feeling dizzy and blanked out after waiting for a while and went to let them know, they said they dont have any space where i can lie down.. i headed back home with severe pain knowing i may be falling down on the floor if i wait more. ( above all i went there with my 4 yr old child waiting there). Humanity is not in books for lowerhutt ED. Hats off to the lady in reception and the nurse i talked to. They even mentioned if i head back home and some thing happens, they wont be responsible for denying service since i left the hospital on my decision.. great jobs guys.. way to go..

World class service for planned medical care referred by GP, Specialists, Emergency hospital treatment by Ambulance or Helicopter. I guess if you arrive at A&E for normal GP treatment you may wait many hours for medical care. Hutt Hospital A&E department is for emergency treatment not to replace Emergency GP's or 24/7 GPs Practices!

Brought my grandson 12 years old in, upon advice from health line, for a strep throat test. We arrived around 10:30 pm last night. Now 05:44 am and we are still waiting to see a Dr. for the test. There were 7 people in front of us, it's not that busy. This is extremely frustrating and upsetting. Brilliant job Lower Hutt Hospital. Remember, he is only 12.

6hrs and still not seen so walked away. Got asked for blood tests a second time so somehow forgotten. Poor form
