Flames on Forty Restaurant Bar at The Hotel Nelson
Ate in for dinner twice and had garlic bread and the veggie burger both times because they were both that great but you do need to deconstruct it abit to eat it (my experience). The second time I did order the dessert which was the cheesecake which was also delicious. The staff were all also friendly and easy to get along with. I do recommend this restaurant

We stayed at the Hotel Nelson a few nights and came here for some coffee and breakfast twice. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Huge portions. Each morning I had a difficult time leaving from the pleasant conversations with the staff. What a great way to start my mornings.

Have had 3 meals so far. 2 breakfasts and one dinner. Every meal was superb. Staff were great,very friendly. Highly recommend.

Lovely staff, very patient. Nice meals, big portions, friendly wine pours, reasonable prices. Would recommend. More outdoor space under cover would be good for inclement weather.

Wow!Food great. Stuffed ourselves.Great lady running front-of-house. Ran the new staff like a pro.I smashed the Flintstone Steak and am now lying contentedly like a blubber on my bed.Well done. Highly recommend.Couple next to us had the cheeseboard...I wish I had had room in my belly.

Been here twice now and will go there more too! The staff are so welcoming and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Especially the head lady - wish I new her name. Fantastic service. Both times the place filled up fast, might pay to book ahead. Good menu to choose from, with a few vegetarian options. Good wine options. Reasonably priced. Decor clean and tidy. Food was delicious both times. This time we had the vegetarian gnocchi dish with side of garlic veges and the roast beef special, plus sticky toffee steam pudding. Yums!

This restaurant is a good choice to have a special, delicious dinner. I tried the vegan salad, the potato skins and the onions rings, as well as the bread and dips. Everything was excellent although a small point: banked noodles are really cheap to get and there were way too many on the salad, BUT nothing huge! I loved it there and the staff was very professional. The drinks were beautiful too.Everything was prepared for the bookings, so that you feel welcome at first come-in.Thank you, I was pleased:)

The service was excellent right from the time we were welcomed by the staff. Staff are very friendly, patient and checks on you often. The menu satisfied every palate. Presentation of food was definitely Insta worthy. FOH staff were on there feet to make sure diners are well looked after and the tables were cleared in a timely fashion.
