Te Toro Recreation Reserve
A lovely large grass Reserve with plenty trees for shade including a Sandy Beach adjoining and boat ramp within the weather protected waterway of Waiuku river. Ideal for a picnic with a young family as it is protected from westerly winds by a reasonable sized Hill and the beach has a slow gradient into the water. Being quite a wide area of river the current is slow moving around the high tide Mark. The river is tidal exposing mud a couple hours after high tide.

Beautiful and secluded beach. Has all the amenities. Doesn't get too busy. Sheltered from high winds and lots of shade.

Nice spot. Great views of Harbour. Lots of parking and play ground for kids next to beach. Ground very soft when we visited.

Awesome beach for kids and safe too. Nice scenic drive out there too. Shaded areas right on the edge of the beach too. Fresh water Shower available however it wasn’t going anymore than a trickle when we were out there yesterday. Set of swings for the kids. Boat ramp is off to the side.

Good boat ramp,, lots of parking and a great little beach and reserve area for those not spending time out on the water

Te Toro Recreation Reserve
Beautiful spot for the family and camping. They do allow camping on-site. There are many trees for shade and plenty of grass area for everyone. They have changing rooms, showers and bathrooms. Boat ramp and slide in the water to enjoy. There is also a park.

Peaceful. Great place for high tide swimming and all ride swimming at the boat ramp. Just have to be mindful it's a boat ramp and to get out of way accordingly. Strong currents and must be mindfull of this. Playground, toliets and camper can camping spots available.

Lovely place to stop. 2 busy boat ramps. Lots of shade available. Toilets and rubbish/recycling bins available. Highly recommended!

Nice spot for camping (free). There are clean toilets and a cold shower which wasn’t really working. Still beautiful place
