Amazing, a small looking Mountain with a so much to it. A very hidden gem. Lovely beech forest onto grassland and then up into a rocky top, it really does have it all. Ever changing views with a great panaroma at the top make this a must do.

We couldn't get up mt hutt for skiing so this was the next best thing. Absolutely beautiful and fun to do in winter, and not too cold. Path can be sketchy so wouldn't recommend to do it with kids or unconfident walkers. But it was a lot of fun and I really did enjoy the fluffy snow and the beauty of the forest. We didn't make it to the summit but we made it pretty high and it was very beautiful at the top with views for miles.

To the summit of Mt Alford is 1,200 metres with beautiful landscape views of the Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alp mountains.

beautiful trail, with very good views. little crowded. there was quite a bit of mud.
