Hapuku Kitchen

We had an amazing meal at Hapuku kitchen supper club. Can’t recommend this highly enough! The food was divine, and the setting was nice and cosy for a winter evening. Must visit!

Amazing cooking class, what an experience! From foraging out on the land to creating some beautiful dishes with the help of Fiona and Chris. Truly nothing more special than knowing where all your food has come from. Highly recommend!

On a recent trip to Kaikoura we were lucky enough to dine at Hapuku Kitchen twice in the space of three days. Both meals were extremely memorable and also completely different. Fiona and Chris are delightful hosts and it was lovely to be warmly welcomed into their home based supper club for both meals. I’m struggling to remember a time when I have been served a meal that matches the time, loving care and creativity that Fiona put into the food we enjoyed both nights. The layering of perfectly balanced flavours and textures in the dishes was absolutely masterful, and the use of local and foraged produce was intriguing. I hope to return one day and have a cooking lesson in the hope that some of Fiona’s culinary genius might rub off on me.

Our cooking class was both an informative and delicious experience. I learnt some much about foraging for and using seasonal produce from the garden. Fiona and Chris then supported our group with just the right amount of oversight to help out when needed while allowing us to create our masterpieces. The delicious wine we enjoyed as we sat down to enjoy our food and the lovely Bridget who tidied around us as we went were an added bonus. I now feel inspired and comfortable to expand my cooking at home.

Hapuku kitchen is absolutely glorious! Fi & Chris are wonderful hosts, and serve delightful food and company in a fantastic setting. Can't wait to get back!
