Stayed over in a self contained camper... quiet, even though it's just off the road. Easy to find. No facilities, and not expecting any.. it's beautiful.

A nice walk with beautiful views. Options of a shorter 1 hour Butcher Dam loop track or longer ones of Basin View or Flat Top tracks. The rock formations are really interesting and the kids loved climbing on the rocks. The wall over the dam is nice too. Watch out for the weather, as it was sunny one minute and raining all of a sudden

Awesome spot we stumbled upon while driving from Dunedin. Great Autumn colours and well worth an hour or two exploring. Lots of parking and well maintained paths.
