Very nice center, highly recommend for any uc students thinking about gymming

Been using this gym for 5 years and has everything you could want. Only negative is it be busy at peak times. Still, can't remember haveing to ever wait more then 20 minutes for anything and there's a strong 'work in' culture

If you are not a UC student, go to this gym is a bad idea because:1. The gym is free for UC student, so it is crazy busy except 6 am.2. No car park during the weekday.3.No free wifi for community.4.Changing room is cold.

Good gym and rec centre. Can often find the King of UC heating up there

1. Rude staff members!!!!! e.g. “you need to stop do that right now!2. You are not allowed to drop barbells. ( that’s hard for people doing weightlifting and powerlifting)3. Cannot deadlift or squat barefoot?!? Why?!4. Avoid FEMALE STAFF here! You better stop doing what you doing, cuz she’s gonna start looking for trouble.5. If you are paying to come here then don’t! I’m here only because Ive been forced to paid hundreds of hundreds levy fee, I train here because I don’t want to waste my money!6. Prepare yourself, cuz RUDE staff can ruin your awesome workout at ANYTIME!

Very poor management at this gym. Lower Staff members are great but management sets a culture that is disgusting towards paying customers. Interrupt mid set and talk down to you. Told I can’t use chalk when they haven’t had chalk in stock for 6 months. And then told to vacuum up the chalk in a condescending tone. Management instantly deflects any accountability into staff members. If I wasn’t forced into membership because of UC I would Go elsewhere. It is the worst gym I have been to which is a shame because it had a lot of potential and management of the place is sellingIt short.

Staff are rude. They treat their members likeChildren because they get an automatic payment from the student levy. For example one staff member told me chalk was not allowed and they use liquid chalk. Well lady the liquid chalk hasn’t been there for about 6 months. There was no need to stop me mid set and rudely tell me to get rid of my chalk and vacuum it up. The equipment is often thrown around and not organised, mixed weights and stuff is often dirty. For the price you pay you get the most primaries equipment and bad attitudes from staff. If they could refund my student levy I would go to city fitness as at least they treat you as a paying customer

Good gym for UC students. They have so many good classes you can choose. The building is a bit old but most things look much better after the renovation.

Generally, they are pretty great.People who are not UC students and staff can still register for membership and their prices are cheaper than most of the gyms in the neighborhood.Of course, the equipment might be a bit primitive and we cannot expect the place to be like the gym of a 5-star hotel.But the UC Rec Centre is great in its own way.& they also have got some nice products for sale, esp. the protein supplements at a discounted price.
