The French Country House
We have stayed here 2 years in a row and the experience is simply unforgettable. The property has been designed and presented very tastefully and Kay's hospitality is always exceptional!!!

The French Country House
Had the best time at The French Country House and keep on talking about it with my wife, even though it’s been a year since we stayed. I originally booked us for 1 night, but after arriving, we changed it to 3 nights. It was such a great choice and made our stay in New Zealand something really special beyond what we could have imagined. Must return ASAP!

The French Country House
Great hotel. It is bright and spacious. Quiet surroundings and a great view. Rooms are large and well equipped - we had a top of the line Kohler spa bath in ours. Service by Kay and Billy was super friendly and attentive. We got to feed the ponies, donkeys and horses next door. Breakfast was sumptuous and tasty. Only fault perhaps is the small number of rooms, but potentially you could 'take over' the place with an extended family group.

The French Country House
Our trip to the French Country House could not have been more perfect. We arrived for our honeymoon the day after our wedding to a very warm welcome from Kay & Billy and we were immediately in awe of the house & property - it is so beautiful! We were so busy with wedding prep that we hadn't had time to make any plans for our stay but it was Kay to the rescue with many thoughtful suggestions of nearby walks, cafes and restaurants so we could make the most of our time away. Not to mention the delicious breakfasts whipped up each day by Kay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the French Country House and we can't wait to return.

Wow! We just had a weekend at The French Country House, what an amazing place, absolutely stunning property, every attention to detail has gone into the design and furnishing of this wonderful property, its luxurious, romantic, opulent, totally delicious! Perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries or a romantic getaway. Kay the host will ensure your every need is taken care of she is amazing. Totally recommend a stay at The French Country House .. relax, and re-charge your batteries - a perfect getaway! A great spot to from which to explore Rotorua, Tauranga, the beachse Waihi, Papamoa and Mount Manganui, not far at all from Hobbiton - I can't wait to go back!

Excellent host. Very generous, caring and friendly. Always looked after me and tended to my allergies, made amazing food. Had a great New Years there. Would highly recommend staying at this amazing place.
