A shocking service, my daughter took her vehicle in to be repaired and the warning lights reset after repair but only to find out that these specialist in electrical repair couldn’t do the job and after paying for the incomplete work more lights came on due to their errors !! Eventually took the vehicle to the dealership as we were threatened that they would take the part back out and put in a broken part and refund the money !! So a company that threatens to put an 18 yr old girl into an unsafe car because of their incompetence just astounds me, I highly recommend EVERYONE stays well away from this shockingly shabby outfit !!!!

I was delighted. They came to my rescue when my starter motor stopped working leaving me stranded at my dentist in Rangiora. They got my vehicle going, took me back to their workshop, leant me a free Loan Car to go home to Kaiapoi. My vehicle was all fixed by lunch time the next day and at a very reasonable price. Thank you Doig Auto Electrical, especially for helping with my wheelchair. I am happy to recommend you to everyone needing friendly, fast, and reasonably priced auto electrical.

Like earlier comments from happy customers, I too was and still are delighted with everything. John was very helpful and professional and on time the end result of all that is that I am a very happy camper with a head unit fully installed and fully operational. His follow up conversation put me on the right track too and it was also very helpful. I now find I don't need to buy another part to get everything going as it should.

Terrible service, was given conflicting information, no receipt upon payment, parts replaced without consent or knowledge. After six weeks, $300 and the car still broken we took it to volkswagen, who fixed it for half the price in two days. Not impressed at all, raised these concerns via email and were told we wouldn't get a refund for any of it. Never using again.

Very impressed with their service and was given a call to tell me how much a part was going to cost which I appreciated rather than being hit with a huge unexpected invoice. Very efficient and was grateful for the use of their courtesy car. I also highly recommend as a business who isn't supporting medical apartheid and wasn't even questioned why I wasn't wearing a mask (I do have an exemption). Nice to be able to see their faces as well! Thank you.

I paid to have a solar panel added to my caravan roof, however, they assigned the job to their junior person who caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage to my caravan. He removed my caravan 3-way fridge, even though that is not the correct way to install a solar panel on the roof, and caused significant damage to the gas pipes as well as breaking off the door handle. I took it to a caravan specialist to attempt to repair the damage, and I've paid them $300 for the first set of repairs, but they need to keep the caravan in for several nights to do the next set of repairs on the fridge as it's still not freezing properly so I'll need to pay out a few hundred more for the second stage of the repairs. The worst thing is that Doig was so dishonest they tried to hide the damage and didn't tell me, so I wasn't aware until I'd parked up that night. He knew he'd damaged it because the metal was completely scrunched up behind the fridge, so it would have made an extremely loud scraping noise when he damaged it, plus he attempted to stuff glue down the fridge which is evidence he knew he'd damaged it. I'd paid a caravan repair shop to carry out a full inspection and maintenance of the fridge when I bought the caravan a few months earlier, so I have a certificate showing it is was in perfect working order two months before Doig Auto Electronics caused hundreds worth of damage to it. The dishonesty is what really bothers me, so I'll need to hire a lawyer and get the lawyer to send the repair bill to this dishonest company because they've been so nasty about it and the man on the phone spoke to me in a disgusting manner when I reported the damage. I'm so sickened by the dishonesty that I'll never trust a New Zealand tradesperson again. The lying and covering it up so I didn't know about it until later that evening was just so deceitful and nasty, plus the way he spoke to me on the phone shows what a rough place this is. I only moved back to NZ a few months ago and I'm just shocked at how dishonest NZ is compared to Australia where I'd never once experienced this disgusting behaviour. I tell everyone I know not to move to NZ now.
