Terrible service , very rude and not educated. They just yell at everyone like USA is super better than any country.

Super easy. Had all my papers and just had to wait about fifty minutes in line, in and out approved in five minutes. Try to get there early if you can.

Worst experience I ever had. You can't get an appointment for 3 months. You can't call anyone to talk to. Finally found a phone number to call and have to press the right buttons get through to someone and you end up talking to a call center in the Philippines or somewhere on a Bad line that can't help. Completely useless.

Taking 6 months to book an appointment, what a joke!!! Staff are not helpful at all!

Vague staff who are not helpful and more interested in deflecting blame, than being of assistance. When I rang them, they seem to recite rote-learned responses, rather than actually responding to my queries. Their email responses are much the same. This is a huge contrast to my experiences with the Italian and Indonesian embassies, who have been very helpful. The US embassy should be ashamed of themselves! I can see from the responses below that they have been equally unhelpful towards numerous people. Also, the way the US visas work are extremely mercenary (I understand this does not have to do with the embassy). It's bad enough that they charge $264 for a mere transit visa. They charge $264 more for rescheduling appointments more than 2 times, regardless of how reasonable rescheduling is and how far in advance you reschedule (i.e. months).

Possibly the worst service I've ever received from any government agency, in any country, ever. I have a hard time imagining how it could have been less caring, less compassionate, or more righteously indignant. Of course, nobody does things with them because they want to, and keeping all the people working there nameless ensures there is no ramifications for the terrible service experience. In fairness I suspect it's a management issue because of the management cared at all it would be extremely easy to go from being as horrible as it is, to excellent, but it won't happen on it's own.

The United States of America’s Consulate which is located at Customs Street East Auckland Central in considered the most powerful diplomatic related high level governmental building. They are highly protected and secured to any levels of national and international affairs and immigration things. We need clearance in advanced before entering the building. They have advanced level weaponry systems to protect their systems from vulnerabilities. Please follow Custom procedural instructions to access.

Horrible and extremely frustrating experience with the non-immigrant visa processing service with delays and zero communication. Echoing what many of the reviews mention, it is hard enough navigating the phone line auto-menu to speak to a human, and they never offer any useful information regarding visa processing status. I understand if there is a delay due to COVID, but this delay should at the very least be communicated. Instead of stating it takes 5-7 days on the website, everyone should know that it's more than 5-7 weeks. We can't put our lives on hold while receiving no information.

The immigration visa department broke my family apart and my life. All my families are US citizens including mother and father. During Covid lockdown, they closed the office and when I applied for returning resident visa (as greencard holder), they denied my application and revoked my lawful permernant status saying I do not have enough ties with the US. All my immediate relatives and 8 uncles/aunties are US Citizens and I do not have enough ties? Especially I am alone in NZ with no living relative in Korea my birthplace. My father is almost 70 still working to support my mother, my 2 siblings also US citizen miss me. All I needed was to get back with family. Meanwhile, I didn't see my uncle and auntie (also US citizens) both pass away before I even got there. Now I have to wait another 6 years to be with my family. What would you feel if this happened to you Consulate-General? Before my uncle and auntie passed away in 2021, they asked me to come back. I miss all of my family. It's heartbreaking.
