Stayed with our golf group. Fantastic staff. Friendly and keen to help. Meals were huge and to die for. Rooms very comfortable and a reasonable price. A real piece of history.

Waipiata Country Hotel
Wow. If ever you want to get away from the hustle of the world come here. We arrived when the place was fair humming with guests. The extremely busy staff were so welcoming. Food was served beautifully without too much delay, although we were advised there was a delay. The room, and bathroom we stayed in was beautifully clean, as were the public areas. This place is head and shoulders above many city hotels. The welcome, the food, the service - top class.

Cyclists on the Otago Rail Trail, don’t miss out! Have a meat pie at the Waipiata Country Hotel. My husband had steak and I had the venison. Probably the best meat pies in New Zealand!

The lamb and mint pie was so sweet - sickly sweet - I couldn't taste any mint but could sure taste lots of sugar.It was great quality with lots of lamb but the chef could do with some instruction...

We visited on a motorbike trip.the meals were outstanding. As we're the staff.always smiling even under pressure. Looking forward to our next visit.thanks guys.

Waipiata Country Hotel is along the Otago Rail Trail and well worth stopping for something to drink, be it coffee or beer/wine; and for something to eat. They have tasty, wholesome food and some gluten free options.Great hosts!No idea what the rooms are like as we didn't stay.

Awesome meal but it was too much. Service was a little brusk and language of the locals was very colorful but it is a pub so I guess it was as good as it was going to get... blue cod was delish!
