Great that the takeaway was open on public holiday when our regular was closed.But if you're looking for a great feed of fish and chips made with passion and value for money then Tanner Street Takeaways probably isn't the place to go.And if you do decide to eat away here, resist the temptation to buy a burger, the 2mm thick burger patty isn't worth the $7 price tag.

We used to love the food from here, but our last lot of oysters were horrible. Old recorded, not fresh, even dog wouldn't eat them . So sad

Used to be the amazing chips, crunchy hollow golden morsels that I felt honoured to eat, but for some reason they just changed, might have been a change of cook I dunno, butNow I can get better chips anywhere, shark pieces were good, steak burger was a total disappointing lot, with just coleslaw,beetroot, a super thin processed patties..and that was it..overpriced, no cheese, lettuce, tomato? If you make a burger in New Zealand, make it New Zealand style, and make a proper mince pattie, real sad about the meal..wasted my time, never going back..

Too stingy with the chips, $5 wasn't even enough for a side dish for two adults and two kids, only about 2 handfuls worth

Beautiful fish and the battered sausage was nice. Ordered $4 chips and was very minimal on amount wouldn't feed a family of four. Over all was average but only because of the chip amount.

Felt like a burger so decided to order one from them. I had seen a review about them having super thin patties so ordered what I thought was an extra one. Get home to find only one pattie in the burger, so gave them a call with some feedback. I was told the pattie in the burger was the extra one I had been charged for and that a bacon and egg burger did not usually have a pattie in in it. The owner was rather rude about it and come on, burgers not having patties in them for $7. Absolute joke

Got 4 dollers one day then got 6 dollers couple days after and I got more when ordered the 4 dollers. If u want alot of chips in Waikiwi go to Waikiwi fish supply . These people will rip you off then be rude

Rubbish rip off business. Used to be great value for many. Now $5 chips gets you 20 chips…… what’s with that. Talk about making money. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Hugely Dissatisfied and disappointed.
